Based on Moral and Ethical Grounds...

......it will probably take hundreds of years before our civilization considers 'Brain Manipulation' as the superior method of bringing essentially instant and lifelong benefits...

........in the meantime.... the same acts are continued despite previous offenses and whatever consequences were dished out.

tis the season, let us give thanks.

dear (insert diety of choice),

forgive me for taking the bait on that last one, i knew it was wrong but i did it anyway. thank you for those you send to spread cheer and bring a smile to our faces. and thank you for giving buster the strength to only use his powers for good not evil. and watch over buster and protect him from those with little sense of humor that they may not wish him harm.

amen.

I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.

They, too, will get old.
I know I am sometimes forgetful.
But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver..

As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore.
I've even earned the right to be wrong.

So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever,
But while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day(if I feel like it).

Now don't you know a liberal would see nothing wrong with that story - especially the buggering part.

My 21 year old friend Robert is bright, intelligent and quite capable of holding a job. After I asked why he was on Welfare and Medicaid he responded to me that he could not afford to work. Seems he is getting so much assistance that if he were to get a job he would loose it all and no job could replace all he is getting for free.

Is this the case with many folks? Seems to me if this is appealing to some why would they even want to work? Free Money…housing assistance…free medical…food stamps…Utility assistance…

My 21 year old Nephew has a FT (minimum wage) job. Pays rent, food (comes over to raid the fridge a lot), Utilities (mostly in the dark, big ass comforter, air mattress on the floor, no cable TV, no phone) and gas for his car that need tires and asks to borrow money sometimes. He has no medical because the company offers no assistance with co-pay and he would have to flip the entire cost himself, so he can’t afford it. He can’t get Government assistance because he is working at a full time job.

Something wrong with this picture for sure....
