She was hit and kicked, but fired in the end.

Unfortunately, the crime takes place on private property owned buy the store. The company is required by law to keep a safe environment. An employee is an 'agent' of the company and there are issues with stopping a perpatrator of a crime. The company would rather take the loss and keep people safe than risk injury to employees or customers.

If an employee tried to stop a thief and he opened fire in the store, if any customers were hurt, the store owners would be liable. Hence, let the criminal go.

Fair? Maybe not, but rules are rules and the retail stores all throughout America abide by this.

Actually we threw Him out of everything. Think back to all the lawsuits keeping our 10 Commandments out of courthouses, etc. What about all the monuments on public land (local, state, federal) that have come under attack (or actually destroyed/defaced) recently... It's bad out there...

In reading the article, it was said that an announcement was made over the PA that a shoplifter was trying to escape while stealing laptops. If it's against company policy to intervene, then what's the announcement for? Are they all supposed to form up and high-five the thief as he exits the store???

I'm 76. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National Service, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some serious health challenges, Iput in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly 40 years. I madea reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as though retirement was abad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired ofbeing told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don'thave my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earnit.

I'm tired ofbeing told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slightoffense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schoolsfor girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery";of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah,because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia, New Zealand, UK, America and Canada, while no one from these countries are allowed to fund a church,synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country to teach love and tolerance..

I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and early 20's bedeck themselves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making them un-employable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I'm damntired. But I'm also glad to be 76... Because, mostly, I'm not going tohave to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter and her children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not on the way in.

Also - if you would, note why are these items `ugly' ? Some items have apparently been added, including the Muslim/Qur'an/Shari'a law stuff - is Mr Cosby saying that is ugly, or that those of us who are `indignantly opposed' are the ugly ones? Is that even in the piece he is calling `unpatriotic?'
You, James, noted elsewhere that you are a Christian expecting to be taken up in the coming Rapture, how will you answer Jesus when he asks you why you denied Him his birthright as the Only Son of the Living God, when the Muslim religion denies this, calls it blasphemy to think that a real god would lower Himself to carry your sins to the Cross so that you could be, would be Totally forgiven...is this the part of what you guys call ugly?

Because it's Bigotry, wrapped in deceit and generalizations but smelling like justifiable outrage. There is no wisdom in bigotry other than that divined about the person/culture repeating the message of hate and intolerance. It's easy to blame others for our problems and that message of intolerance and hate was spread in so wide a pattern that it touch on some of our 'things that make us crazy' issues.

This is just another circus to distract from the real problems that we can solve if light is shining on them. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Keep shining the light James48843 and Aireman.
