What's the world coming to?

I don't care who you are or what you look like, as long as you give a piece of your heart for good, however that comes at you. Face studs or bone in your nose, no matter, everyone that contributes has a place.

Quite frankly, I'm just as frightened by the world the empty suits and talking heads have wrought as what some fear from the tattoo crowd.

I don't get it, it doesn't matter what side of the bucket of poop you stand on, as long as you're standing in a bucket of poop and slinging then you come out smelling like ****, there is no way to win that game.

What's the point?

Well said! +1

So why does that obliterate the wisdom of the letter? Wisdom is spoken of quite highly in Proverbs, if you read them you might some correlation here... Bill Cosby may be an idol per the TV script writers, that doesn't make him King Solomon.

Wisdom? I don't see wisdom in that writing, I see a lot of bigotry, ignorance and hatred. We are looking at the same letters on the page, and seeing vastly different things.

A word before we start- the letter starts with the premise that is was written by Bill Cosby. That's a lie. Lies are the territory of Satin, not Christ. That's a good place to start. Ask yourself- if lies are the province of the devil, what else can you believe in here?

However, I am curious as to which of the things mentioned in this, line-by-line if you please, are you two NOT tired of;
and, if you would, your rationale also.

No, Grandma, you don't really want to hear it. Because what I would have to say would not generally align with how you view the world, I am afraid. Sometimes I would rather say nothing and leave things be than to stir up a hornets nest with my observations that you would disagree with.

Also - if you would, note why are these items `ugly' ? Some items have apparently been added, including the Muslim/Qur'an/Shari'a law stuff - is Mr Cosby saying that is ugly, or that those of us who are `indignantly opposed' are the ugly ones? Is that even in the piece he is calling `unpatriotic?'

The ones that depict stereotypes, to begin with. Like "...people too lazy to earn it." That's a real big stereotype there, if you don't know it.

You, James, noted elsewhere that you are a Christian expecting to be taken up in the coming Rapture,
Ahh.. no, I never said that I was expecting to be taken up in the coming Rapture. I said that I know God is real, because I personally experienced him in a personal relationship, and that I no longer have any iota of doubt about whether or not God is real, Jesus is his son, and died and returned again. I no longer fear death in the least, I am looking forward to it. All in good time, however. I have 100% faith that God is with us always, and , by the way, he has a heck of a sense of humor. But that doesn't not necessarily mean that I expect to be taken anywhere during a rapture, thanks.

how will you answer Jesus when he asks you why you denied Him his birthright as the Only Son of the Living God,
I don't deny this in the least.
...when the Muslim religion denies this, calls it blasphemy to think that a real god would lower Himself to carry your sins to the Cross so that you could be, would be Totally forgiven...is this the part of what you guys call ugly?
Hmmm... well there is some of that lack of knowledge going on there. Can I ask- have you ever sat down and discussed religion with a Muslim religious leader, to hear what they believe and what they have say? You might find it quite interesting if you did, to hear the places where Islam and Christianity actually intersect. There are a lot of common beliefs there. The two religions are not opposite- in fact there are many places where they are the same. [/quote]

How about you drawing a caricature representing the Islam religion, post it along with one of Jesus; defend them both by calling them Art - Oh, yeah, Jim, that's right, your declaration of what IS art was posted loud & clear as a front page banner..... open the thread, & WHAM! - There you go !!!

Mixing religion with interpretation of cultural values-- Not a good thing. Try drawing picture of Jesus and make fun of him within the walls of the Westboro Baptist Church, or that guy in Florida. All religions seem to produce their share of wacko radicals. And some culturally backward folks. Doesn't really matter if it's in Kansas or Iran, both have some folks that others are not happy with.

Still - how long until your Government job is at risk, and perhaps even you & your family? But only because of the Muslim caricature, not the one relating to Christianity.
I don't know- you are again talking about cultural values, not religious teachings. There is a difference.

Personally, I really am having difficulty finding much of anything documented in that letter that is not having detrimental affect on our country, not the other way around.

And I have difficulty finding much in that letter than is based in reality and facts. That's the problem- some folks see things far, far differently than reality, and that colors their impressions.

Wow.... All I did was post that the letter supposedly written by Bill Cosby was a fake. My issue with it was trying justify the statements in there as truths instead of opinions because it was written by somebody famous. If you take opinions as facts because they are spouted off by famous people, without trying to do any research on your own then you become the victim of being "lazy with no work ethic" because, it does take work to find the truth. Just remember a lie is best believed if it has some truth in it.

I am a truthful person, most of the time just a little too truthful.
Yes, it is true that this email was NOT written by Mr. Cosby and it is a fake. I went to his site and he did not write this thing. http://billcosby.com/site/2011/09/if-you-got-the-bogus-email-its-time-to-hit-delete.html
Sorry for posting bogus information, but there are some things in the email that I agree with and others that I don't regardless of who wrote it. For me to itemize my agreements and disagreements would only generate a deluge of contrarian opinions and would serve no purpose so let your conscience be your guide.

IMO, most of the things in the letter would have rung more true before the financial collapse.

==============================

With corporate earnings humming right along...what incentive public or private would cause any kind of job creation?

Nobody OUES anybody a job. There is no obligation for anybody to GIVE anybody else a job.

Under what circumstances are people who would love to have a job going to be able to get one?

Well that's probably the most ridiculous thing I ever read. How can any of my fellow Americans believe that all the Conservatives want to do is drive poor Citizens farther into the ground, how would that help the economy? How would that encourage business to hire more people [Tax Payers] and pull us out of the hole? Someone has logic deficiencies whirling around in their brains. Where do the jobs come from, the Government??? NO NO NO! Put the people to work!
