Question on the weekly tracker. Does the TSP Long Term Allocation refer to the aggressive one?

Yes. That's because the moderate and conservative approaches are not looking to maximize gains like the aggressive approach. Capital preservation becomes the focus.

Re: Weekly Account Tally

I'll be out of town until 2 Jan. I'll submit the 2006 tally when I return.

Happy New Year!----Rokid

Since Feb 1 inception: +10.88%

Re: Weekly Account Tally

Congratulations to FundSurfer for generating the highest return in 2006 with a gain of 24.40% !

It was a close battle as there were full and partial year returns from a handful of members over 20%.

Pointman actually ended up with a higher return but he didn't start getting tracked until the end of March. Very impressive!

We'll get the full tally when Rokid returns after the holiday. Nice job!

Re: Weekly Account Tally

Milkman, he beat me by like 3%. I should have gone and stayed 100% I-fund in October when I was ahead of it, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Props to Fivetears, Georgiagal, and Pointman. All had a solid year last year and are starting this year off on the right foot as well.

Congrats to the top 2006 accounts! I was planning on sending the top 3 or 5 returns something for their achievement but I decided to go with the 7 accounts that were over 20%.

1 - Fundsurfer 24.40%

2 - Griffin 23.86%
3 - Mayday 22.23%
4 - Showme 21.81%
5 - sugarandspice 21.77%
6 - Georgiagal 20.96%
7 - FiveTears 20.23%

I'm going to get something like shirts, hats, or something else cool ordered once I get a final version of the new logo all set. It may take a few weeks to get that logo and an order for the merchandise completed. I'll contact the winners via PM once they are ready.

Thanks,
Tom

It just goes to prove that woman sense is darn good sense. And she is not starting out in the deep wet well like some other previous leaders.

My guess, and I hope I'm wrong for their sake, is that the ones who did well last year, and started well this year, have remained aggressive the whole time in spite of market concerns. That worked well, but they will be hurt most IF (big if) the market turns south.

It's the ones who can change gears who will be rewarded in that case.

January 07

G Fund F Fund C Fund S Fund I Fund
0.43% 0.00% 1.53% 3.14% 1.31%

I'm anxious to see how many beat what funds for January. Don't know if they will do the tally at 1/31 or at 2/2.

I believe I beat the C fund but certainly not the S fund, as of 1/31.

I just read above posts, and appreciate the offer of a reward, but truly I don't want anybody spending money on shipping anything, not to mention on the gift itself. I feel the other way, that I should be sending Tom and others gifts!

And yes, we are all trying to be careful this year. It would be a terrible tragedy to be beaten by the G fund at the end of the year.

Re: January 07

Look at what the situation was like last year at this time (rokids tally)

Rokid's Tally early Feb

No one was beating the S or the I. You were the only one of last years top 7 to be in the top 20% at that time.

I personally was twice as far behind the S and I last year at this time compared to where I am now.

Don't be discouraged...It is the nature of the timer to slip behind the funds when they are making progressive gains. It's the sacrafice we make to not get walloped when the herd are riding their Ducati's into the valley.

January 07 Tally

You Guys, 3+ and 4+% in a month that had Wall Street scratching it's head!

You can do it the rest of the year!

Unbelievable. I'm so impressed.

The 3-4% a month is what I would like to do also.

That is really making things happen and staying in the game.

It is great to be able to see people who make this happen and that means it is there for the taking if I can keep a handle on things.

Thanks to all.

Yes, I do understand that about the per month figures. I should have stated that also. I would not expect it myself, but it is a figure I would like to keep shooting for in order to stay ahead. If I could stay above 2% it would be good also. This is a continuous learning process for me and being here now has opened my eyes.

Thanks to all

Seems to me a lot of people don't remember or weren't invested in 2000-2002. Sometimes not losing anything is a good thing. The market can be very humbling. It can also make you look like you have a crystal ball at times. I know of one person who has had a good year so far, well, part of the year anyway, but last year he sucked all year. If you are into new music, check out Blue October's "Hate Me". They are from Texas....... :D
