weatherweenie's account talk

Aug. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Bertrand Des Pallieres, founder of the SPQR Capital LLP hedge fund, said he was so focused on the swings in financial markets that he didn't notice his 80,000- pound ($160,000) sports car had been impounded by London authorities.

The 39-year-old, who quit Deutsche Bank AG in April to set up the fund, said in a telephone interview he amassed ``thousands of pounds'' in fines from unpaid congestion-charge fees and taxes. Authorities seized the blue Maserati Cambiocorsa in late May. Des Pallieres didn't realize it had been taken until this month.

Have to make an early decision. Hopefully we'll get a nice pop today, so I'm selling some into what I hope continues to be a rally.

I'm steamed. I entered an IFT going 50-50% G-F on 9/2. It didn't take effect cob 9/4. I called TSP and was told that 'maybe' due to the holiday it won't take effect until cob 9/5.

So, instead of playing the FV perfectly yesterday, I get to sustain what appears to be a loss in the I fund today.

Thankfully I'm only 50% I, 50% G. But, I shouldn't have had anything in the I fund today!!!

And they're always so helpful:sick: No private business would have a chance if they treated customers like TSP does. Most reputable companies with which I have dealt will bend over backward to rectify even a perceived wrong, and when it's obviously their fault, its not even a question. I got screwed over the New Year/last-minute National Day of mourning fiasco, so I know how you feel. And these employees act as if it's nothing--of course they're probably among those that will NEVER retire, so they truly have no concept...

Changing from 50% S/I to 50% C/S cob 9/7.

Don't like the idea of hoping for -FV today, or +FV Monday in the I fund.

IF there is a bounce, the US markets will need to lead the way. Seems that the C fund does a little bit better in the early stages of a rebound. Don't quote me on that though.

I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger to get into the market for Friday. With today's rally in the USM, and the dollar as low as it is, I can see Friday being another day of profit taking and/or rally in the dollar.

I have a few minutes to find a coin to flip. :)

Looks good as the F was spared today and the G may be inline for the bump!

Hope it pans out...I have a similar mix with smidgen in the I and G and heavy by 80% in the F.

Went 50-50 C&I for Tuesday.

Pucker factor is kind of high given the overbought conditions. Hopefully it will be a case of buy high, sell higher.

Put some in the C just incase the dollar rallies and limits the I fund's return.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Reuters) - The strong Canadian dollar has hit the illegal marijuana sector just as it has other industries that export to the United States, one of Canada's best known legalization advocates said on Thursday.
