Well, apparently we just blew a hole in an Iranian cargo ship. Strait is closed.

Trump says US seizes Iranian-flagged cargo ship near Strait of Hormuz that tried to pass blockade

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said the U.S. forcibly seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship that tried to get around a naval blockade near the Strait of Hormuzon Sunday, the first such interception since the blockade of Iranian ports began last week.

Trump on social media said the ship was warned by a U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer in the Gulf of Oman to stop, but it did not. He said the Navy “stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engineroom” and that U.S. Marines had custody of the vessel, named Touska, and were “seeing what’s on board!”

“….as it tried to get around a blockade near to the strait of Hormuz”.

Um, it was shot at l, and boarded, now is sitting 245 Nautical miles east of the Strait. That is a pretty far hike away from the Strait.

Really good analysis of the Straits traffic issues over the last 24 hours here- worth watching.

Are you ready to make trades on “Market Manipulation Monday”?

Place your bets.

Will it be oil up, and the Strait closed?
(Markers down)

Or will peace break out all over?
(Markets up)?

Or both?

What is so confusing, @James48843 ...

The United States is blockading Iranian shipping via interdictions in the Gulf of Oman. No Iranian shipping permitted - to or from...
Iran is threatening (effectively blockading) all shipping through Hormuz excepting Iranian shipping and some of those that pay a Bitcoin toll.

The United States Navy would have been stupid to enforce an Iranian shipping blockade in the Straight. They also would be stupid to allow Iranian trade if the Iranians do not allow other Gulf states to trade.

This is not hard.

And, the IRGC will crack long before we do. They already are.

How is Iran blockading anything? I listened to Hegseth last week, they have no navy.
They can't even hold their own country.

So he says.

Iran 'blockades' by being Iran, by being a threat, and by targeting (or, the threat of targeting) tanker/cargo ships with munitions. They have done so for half a century, they are more kinetic now.

They don't have a viable navy, they don't control their own airspace, and now they have no way of attaining hard money.
