Wow, has it been two months since I last posted in my thread? I really need to do some dusting! Oh, no wonder no one has been in here, the Jack Daniels is empty! Gonna have to stock up!

I've been out on vacation for the last week or so and haven't been paying attention to the market. Not a bad little run up last week. Might be looking for an exit point soon.

Does the TSP website always go down the fifteen minutes before the time limit expires for transferring funds? I went to make an IFT and couldn't log in!

It seems to have the same javascript infection that the Postal stand-alone software online-based shipping tool does.
Drag and Lag.
On top of that they have built in so much security that a new full browser window is needed to get logged in.
Tabs won't work in FF, and only one instance of IE can be running to not cross-reference cookies.
I can't believe they had so many security reports they found it necessary to lock it up as tight as our work systems.
If the lag was addressed, that would be one thing, but at the end of each page load is a few second stall for scripting of some sort.
Reminds me of eBay, when they had "user requests" for more appearance bells and whistles, when it was really all about user behavior tracking.
The site ran like a slug, and they were continually messing with it.

Made an IFT into the Garage today. I can't point to anything in particular that made me get out of the market. I just have a bad feeling...

Unless the market takes tanks hard, I'll probably be out the rest of the month. Hope I'm wrong and the rest of you in the market make a killing!

Will the market be open on Friday? If we make an IFT Friday, will it be processed that day, or the following Monday? I didn't see anything posted on TSP.gov, but I'm not really good at navigating the new site.

The TSP is open Friday.

Per tsp.gov:

The Thrift Savings Plan will be closed on Thursday, November 25th, in observance of Thanksgiving Day. Transactions that would have been processed Thursday night (November 25th) will be processed Friday night (November 26th), at Friday's closing share prices

Happy 2010 everyone! I'm holding steady and hoping for a new year's bounce before the next leg down. I meant to jump back to the lilly pad yesterday, but I'm on leave and didn't pay attention to the time.

Here's my New Year's Resolution:
I resolve to be above my current position in the autotracker, which is 120, by the end of 2010. I'm aiming for the top 50. Happy investing y'all!

Boy did I fail miserably on my last new year's resolution. I'm at 201 in the autotracker right now. Oh well, I resolve to make better investment decisions in 2011. Still aiming for top 50 in the autotracker and an increase in my personal rate return to 14% or higher.
