U.S. Debt Clock

And to only think......8 years ago, under Clinton, we were paying that off.

Let's see, what happened between then and now? Oh yeah, now I remember.

More fascinating was Eisenhower's speech on the matter. There's a Republican that I really liked. Did the Iraq war create or solve the problem of terrorism? Hint: check WMD and Iraq's relationship to Al-Qaeda.

Phil: Aren't you fascinated about all those perty colored numbers ticking by knowing that the USA is combating terrorism to keep us all safe.

Arkansas got into the lottery business this month. Seems a 34 yo fellow on the other side of the mtn bot a $5 scratch-off and came up w/$100,000. His wife had just had a baby, and this was his first week on the job - so he was excited. His comments incl: he'd put some down on a house, get a nice car for the wife, and...whatever." (he'll get about 75K from the ticket.) My thought was first: what's he on, then I figured he was just like me a few years ago, no conception of money. However - today: The Judge determined he was ineligible for free lawyer because he had just cashed in the $100K ticket, and was under charges from August for felony methadone, for indecent exposure to an undercover officer, for solicitating sex on the internet..... Bless his heart - he Was Really Ignorant !!
Moral: time your lottery winning carefully
WOW! Most people do the drugs and debauchery AFTER they win the lottery, not before! At least now he can afford a private attorney, rather than rely on an overworked, underpaid public defender!

I had a dream recently...one of those "wish fulfillment" dreams, where I won the lottery and . Then I woke up, got dressed, and left for work. :embarrest: ....
Like I said, it was a wish fulfillment dream, but I am working on manifesting that right now!

I believe it means that if everyone paid off all their debt including the government the deficit would be zero in the USA. Everyone would be out of debt.
I had a dream recently...one of those "wish fulfillment" dreams, where I won the lottery and held a press conference to discuss the growing national debt. I told the assembled members of the press that I was making an after tax payment on the national debt for myself, my wife, my children, and several other members of my family and I didn't want to hear anymore about not paying "my fair share" of taxes. Then I woke up, got dressed, and left for work. :embarrest:

It's going faster than the rate of time

dollar for second

by over $100,000 Dollars

How long can we hide in this 'comfort zone' before someone rightfully demands their money ????

I see...so if that amount were paid by a citizen, then they wouldn't be liable for further interest...right?

So, if I send a check to the treasury for the per citizen amount, would I be free and clear of further interest charges? When my kids become taxpayers, they'll have to pay their per citizen amount, which would be about twenty times the amount today because of the miracle of compound interest, right?
If I were to pay the per taxpayer amount, would my kids be exempt from the per citizen amount?

Citizen is every man women and child weather they pay taxes or not.....tax payer are, well , taxpayers....so there are definately more citizens than taxpayers.

I have a question with regard to this calculator. It shows debt per citizen as $38,742.00 and then debt per taxpayer as $110,024.00. There are more "taxpayers" than citizens, so shouldn't that number be LOWER than the debt per citizen block?

I think the "illegal immigrant" block is grossly understated. I think there are closer to 25-30 million.
Don't forget that the Taxpayer is covering the costs of those "illegals". My famliy are all taxpayers now....kids have grown-up!
