tsptalk's Market Talk

Happens every year Tom, obviously central and east centered this year.
All of the big retailers employ lots of part-time workers but alot of them work more than part-time hours. As an offset every year (after the holidays) retailers have been known to cut full time hours one or two days a pay period and drop their part timers to 24 hours a week for a month or two. They will crank back up mid March.
Although the stock is not on top of its all time high, it is still riding pretty good. If it was a concern for the big investors I would think it would drop like a rock.

The SPY nearly filled the open gap this morning, and any strength in the afternoon should complete that fill.

Interesting morning with S&P and Dow basically flat, the Nasdaq and small caps having a very nice day, and the Transports are selling off.

I personally think the SPX is gonna pull back a little in the next few days, possibly setting up a nice cup & handle.

then a breakout into no man's land would be awesome

If 2013 is any indication, I'm looking for a breakout to new highs, then a pullback... similar to a cup and handle, but the breakout will take out the shorts' stops first. :)

There is nothing wrong with being greedy - greed makes the world go around. You just have to keep a disciplined handle on the emotions. When I reach the point of catching a +$100K day my greed index will explode into another level.
