Tspgo_com Account Talk

Are you anticipating moving fully into G by Thursday's noon deadline or do you see staying in stocks for Friday and the weekend?

I was expecting a rebound of the USM today followed by the OSM tonight. The plan was to unload everything on Thursday. However, the USM market does not look that promising as I type, so I might be doing a partial move to the G-Fund tomorrow instead of a 100% move.

Remember all our signals are in WAIT status. So unless you are ready to bail out at the flick of a finger, the best bet is to remain in the G-Fund. This market does not look good at all and everything seems to be pointing downward. Down, down, down.

Good luck!

I will just have to patiently wait for the collapse. There is just to much bad news out there. Still sitting on 100% G and collecting my penny weekly.

It seems that's the right (smart) thing to do. I was expecting to be completely out by Friday but the USM market seems to be amputating the last leg today. (S&P from 1340 to 1322 as I type)

Good luck!

The C and the S-Fund triggered a BUY signal on 03/05/08.

Last UP IFT and Last DCA for March, 2008

Going 50% S, 50%

Hey TspGo ...

Regarding the slope charts, it appears you're using the actual day of the week as your data points. If I'm right, that would mean there are three days on the slope chart between last Thursday and today (Monday).

Do you think it would be better to use a count of trading days as the X-axis? ie, there is only one trading day between Thurday's close and Mondays close. This would certainly have an effect on your slope charts and maybe impact your other analyses as well.

Good observation. In reality the X-axis is a count of trading days. The day of the week is not relevant. It is just a label to give us an idea when the event took place.

So, let's say that the market closes today and reopens one month from now, the label would be today and the next one would be 30 calendars day from now but for the trend what would matter is the change from the value today and the value in 30 days.

By the way, thank you so much for your contribution to this MB. I liked your graphs (http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/showpost.php?p=142642&postcount=266) It is a pity that you don't post them often. I use to look at them to compare them to my outcomes. Also, I was trying to figure out your sigma values but I gave up.

Again, thank you.

Thanks! I try to post them when there is something interesting happening or I use them to make a trade. But its hard to find the time to do that on a regular basis anymore as it is a bit of a labor-intensive process. ( Update the data, copy the graph, paste into MS-Paint, save as a JPG, Upload to the MB, Post it in the Message. ) Ugh. Wish I could find a more automated way to do that. If I understood Excel Macros a bit more I'm sure I could wrap my arms around it better.

There's not much to the sigma calculations. Use the 20 DMA as the mean, use the STDEVP Excel function over the same length of time to calculate the sigma. Then the "high" value is simply the ( mean + 1*sigma ) and the low is the ( mean - 1*sigma ). Would be happy to send you one of my spreadsheets if you like - all I need is your email address.

The I-Fund is up by 0.10. If the market reacts this afternoon we might get a +FV.

Taking small profit out the I-Fund.

OSM market is slowing down.

Going: 25% G, 40% S, 35% I.

Making all my moves before the curse

Good luck!

I took a short vacation in SC. It was in the Seneca area. The Resort did not have an adequate internet connection.

Update:

The C and the S-Fund triggered a sell Signal on 4/1/08
The I Fund triggered a sell Signal on 4/7/08. IFT should be entered today. Those on IFT restriction should mail their request today.

Good luck!

I will mail the request today, you mailed on 4/2/08 plz let us know how many days does it take for them to process so we can estimate how many days in advance should we mail out? and thanks for posting and your contribution to the board.

I don't have enough information to determine the number of days. The one I mailed is showing today. However, I mailed it from out of town. I still have to determine how long is going to take from my post office. I will be submitting one IFT daily from my postal office until I get a better idea. I will be mailing one daily with a one percent change (eg: 90% G ==> 91% G ==> 92% G) until I get a Buy signal. I should be able to get enough data to see how long it takes them to process my requests.

Good luck!

We are in a holding pattern. We will perform an IFT before noon on 5/1/2008. We should be moving 100% to the G-Fund.

Good luck!

The IFT Mail Restriction is expected to be lifted on May 1, 2008. Beginning May 1, 2008 you should be able to perform two (2) IFT's as you please. Once you have performed two IFT's you will be allowed to make as many IFT's as desired but to the G-fund only. Everything resets to zero the first of each month.

The current signal for the C-Fund, S-Fund and for the I-Fund is HOLD. We are expecting a SELL signal on April 30, 2008.

If you are restricted to mail your IFT's you should have mailed you request for an IFT to be effective May 1, 2008. If there is no restriction in your account, your request for an IFT should be in before noon on May 1, 2008.

We are following the Buy and Sell Signals for the S-Fund and I-Fund as triggered by the slope charts. (C-Fund). (S-Fund). (I-Fund).

Good luck!

If you are restricted to mail your IFT's you should have mailed you request for an IFT to be effective May 1, 2008.Good luck!

Tspgo_com, for those under the penalization of mail restrictions, the
Thrift Board lifted the FAX ban. I placed my IFT on Sunday 8:43pm
and it went through on Monday (COB). I used a web site that allows
you to FAX over the internet for free. http://faxzero.com

Fill out your TSP-50, Scan it, Save it as a .jpg, Send it using Faxzero.

Hope this helps !;)
