TSP Poker Club

I highlighted his post to show that he also voted on the current season.

I've posted showing burro stated "next season." Either you, with a POA, or burro himself will have to post to a different effect.

I want to LOL, but I'm not sure if that would be insensitive given the current circumstances.?!

No need for POA just want all votes to be counted, don't you?If you look at his last post. He said 8 of 23 is too low and if we are voting his vote is 75%.

Right. Thanks. Please tell him to provide a number, not a percentage. Thanks again.

 In all honesty Q, I'm thankful to Burro and JP for taking an idea and moving it into action, then to you and K for organizing it into such a cool tournament, and finally to Tom for hosting. Without all your efforts we wouldn't be enjoying this super fun activity! You all deserve BIG KUDOS in my book. I really appreciate all of you guys!:D

Thank you FS but I can't take any credit. It was all Donkey's idea. Thank you for your kind words, though.

well that is just about the craziest dang thing i've seen, twice. normally i would separate out several different issues for reply in single posts, but i am already over 10k and don't need the count, so let's see if can fit 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound sack.

when i resigned as previous manager i did it because i sucked at being a manager, and folks didn't hesitate to express their opinion. i couldn't even schedule games properly at the right times on the right days and had zero control of how stats were figured. fortunately, some smarter and braver folks stepped in and got the organization and statistical solutions up and running, good work cue and kuz.

there is always division when trying to herd cats, some cats will be happy and some cats will be mad, always. this is why i will never run for public office again, especially an unpaid position, no matter how much good you do somebody will always find your effort lacking. this is probably how john boehner felt when he resigned his speakership after he realized the caucus had gone all tea party.

i will not seek nor would i accept any position having to do with the running of this club, mainly because i suck at it. i make a better salesman and idea guy than an engineer or manager. so i hope somebody else will step up and drive this bus, because it is a totally fun bus. it seems cue and cuz pretty much got the logistics and records straightened out so it should be relatively easy for anyone to perform at least basic duties, but there is no way i have the skillset or desire to provide advanced features like replays and wrap ups or finish logs.

i think the discussion about # of games for future seasons is a legitimate one. and although i did not introduce an effort to change current metrics, i did point out how i feel they are misrepresentative. all of these things are valid and good topics to debate and reason through.

i enjoy playing poker with every one of you, so maybe we can find a way to trudge forward. if not, then i'm glad i mostly kicked butt. but it seems a shame to let this level of skill and comradery go so soon. oh well, ashes to ashes and bust to bust.

if the game continues, deal me in.

Oh my, what did I just come home to? jemanany. I finally just now got clear on Q's issue about bumping the number of games up for season scorekeeping purposes-speaking of NEXT season. the people only able to play on one day of the week or the other, would never be able to play 13 games for stats purposes. doh! :pat: Which means I hereby second Tom's suggestion, that would resolve that particular problemo. AAANd would create an incentive for others to join the club, if there were more opportunities for prizes. but that would likely be more work than KO would want to take on-unless he says he's ok with that idea.

But since I don't expect to win any prizes n this crowd, even if Q departs our company, I am here simply for the fun and mental challenge to improve some thinking skills and taking some reasoned risks that might help me with my tsp (investing) game, so I appreciate a way for me to see whether and how I'm improving over time in poker.

so if we just stick with one tourney per week, best 10 of 13, and keep alternating between Mondays and SUNDAYS, I meant SUNdays! LOL!, it will still give more people a chance to play and have some fun even if some can't participate often enough to reach for the stars (prizes).

what would I have to do, b? would we have to close down the current club when the season is over and start a new one? would Q have to do the honors or will the current club die a natural death when the season is over, since he won't be creating the next tournament season?

cue has graciously offered to help with the transition for six weeks. i am not the best person to ask about what to do because i suck at it, and i don't enjoy it.

does anyone second?

Hey players, We are going to The Beau Ravage in Biloxi Mississippi for 3 days next week, we will be really gambling, rooms COMPED and free food! We win about 20% of the time but a lots of fun.slotmachine.gif

as long as you can afford to lose what you lose the other 80% of the time, have a good time, nnuutt. back when I put real money in the slots, quite while ago now, when away from home for work overnight, no colleagues for company, I'd set a limit, $5-7 worth of nickels, they'd last me about an hour or a little more before they were all gone, I figured it worth it as a time killer for entertainment value, about the cost of a movie. then I'd go back to my room and kill the rest of the evening with the tube or a book I brought. that's the extent of my real money play time expertise. :o

I STRONGLY suggest NOT splitting things into a Monday season and a Sunday season.

If I understand what was proposed correctly, that's not just a new table in the spreadsheet... or a new tab/sheet... it's an entirely new 2nd spreadsheet! Yuck!

If that's what people want, by all means... but yuck!

somehow that's what I thought you'd say. which is why I said lets stick with the one alternating days tourney program we already have. even if the other idea would solve certain issues, it would create others, for you especially were you to accept the assignment, given the reaction, I'd say no one would ask that of you in any serious way, KO.
