BTW to clear up some confusion... I called the season that just closed season 2 when i posted the stats... mainly because it was the 2nd time prizes were given out, and totally forgot we had a season before without prizes, and just noticed it when looking back today.

play the player, not the cards. glad to see you've dropped out. makes it easier. just tryin to help. everbody has their own routines.
 
OK burro, I misspoke. Needed to sit out a bit after that graphic mental imagery and thinking about all the guys and gals in the game playing against you with that imagery. It was a little much. Went on tilt, got to stop doing that, you don't get to win that easy :rolleyes:, A little look to the left, don't watch the right hand-works for me just fine.

thanks for the reminder about cards vs players. I joined the game to become a better player, and not just at poker, so I'll stick around and get better at applying the lessons-all of them, takes time. Besides, Tom's the only one who can call off the game-my bad. a Trump tweet if you will. :embarrest: comes with going on tilt. I still need to trounce gata a time or two, no matter how many games it takes. :laugh:
 
if you want to take down monsters, you got to be a bigger monster. this is fundamental to way more things than poker.

also it helps if you have nothing to lose. or don't care if you lose it. which also happens to be the secret to the market.
 
I never worried about monsters under the bed growing up. well, maybe a little, I'd step wide when I got out of bed, just to be sure. the market is a monster to be sure, and I'll have to face it at some point, and I will.

meanwhile, snow, snow and snow some more. It's cold outside. working on some weekend cooking for the next week+. I'm baking some ribs, with homemade bbq sauce, thinking of nnuut. After that, its the turkey I didn't have reason to cook over the holidays due to being away from home. freezer wants some pre-cooked meals, I'm about out.
 
i know some folks in christmas valley, it is heavy and deep there, more than ever. that is good, god is bringing big moisture for later, making the future grass grow.
 
now here is a real awkward moment... who would ever name something, anything, "crack in the ground"?

as fate would have it when it was being mean to me one time, i ended up taking that walk down in and back out at crack in the ground. with my son, his mother in a crisis and, and his two half sisters. so the girls go up ahead and kidmom is slipping climbing up a rock and i say "your thong is coming off". both of his sister's heads snap around.

now why do you think them girls would know what a thong is? or that a man would tell her it is coming off? it was a "flip flop" one of those cheap walmart sandals, and all i did was boost her up the rock face while trying to save her shoe? but where i grew up they were called "thongs" not "flip flops", so i said it is slippery and your thong is coming off.

it was a very disturbing moment. a 4 and 9 year old girl at the time both know the word "thong" and that a man might tell their mom "it is coming off"? so i just stopped thinking after that point. it was too much. life is strange.

anyways, that is how i know xmas valley. also they have a museum where there are many picture frame mosaics made out of found flint arrowheads. there are lots of arrowheads all around that place. and there is an old eroded volcano cone. in the middle of nowhere. which nowhere is always my favorite place. crazy time travel stuff, it is a vortex there.
 
been to/through Christmas Valley a time or 2, recall the volcano cone. back in grad school days, My prof almost run us out of gas on the backcountry circuit south from Bend and then back again north on a longdistance class field trip-as I recall we were running on fumes in van full of grads by time we got back to a gas station on main highway. and yes, some us grew up talking flipflops and thongs interchangeably. didn't know there was any other kind. generational difference in awareness occurred in the meantime. I say flipflop these days to avoid any confusion.

It shocked me. I didn't see the river, thought he had it. but I will say that coming back from 10K:1K and turning it backwards full reverse was quite satisfying. doubt I'll do that again this century.
