Yeah, that's a real problem. This site (tsp talk) may help to educate, but most people who come to this site were seeking help. It's the ones that don't even seek help that will really be hurting. Can you say socialism? Us savers can take care of the non-savers, can't we? :@:{

Good article. I'm going to post it at work. Food for thought for the ostriches I work with. Tom pointed out recently that the I fund ran up 50% in the last 18 months yet only 1% of the eligible are invested in it. Doing something about saving for retirement is within reach of the people I work with but they are such financial Luddites!

Only when formal workshops on retirement savings, not those pre-retirement classes, are provided to educate workers about their financial future will they listen and act. Of course the luddism is closely related to the disadvantages of being of the working class > no time, stress of everyday living and lack of education. I don’t think effective workshops will evolve until the privatization of social security becomes a reality and money is to be made by those in the financial business. It will be a goldmine for those in the finance trade in educating workers and seducing them to turn their accounts over to them.
Addendum: That's nice of you tosharehelpful information.

U just hit the nail on the top of the head! :^

Edit <><

I heard that nail cry "OUCH" all the way down here!

For shame, picking on a nail! Bucking the system, shameful!!! Utterly shameful!

(but, couldn't have said it better!)

Make sure you find the R on you keyboard.

Great article Wonder Women. Hopefully we have NO deer in the headlights - did not see that coming people on this board. Paul Farrell has a great article about the upcoming recession. He is a good source of advice.

Good luck!
