Show-me - great observation. I just looked at MSCI Barra's website to see what they had for the EAFE in the local currency.

YTD = 1.01%

So, even less than you were looking at. That's pretty bad. So pretty much all the gains from the I fund is due to the lousy dollar.

IMO, that makes the economy look even worse because we know the weak dollar is motivating foreign investors to buy American companies on the cheap. We have heard that many times that the foreign investors are helping hold up the USM with their buying. If that dollar weakness was not there, where would we be then? And, it the Dollar starts to rally, the I fund will take it on the chin.

Again, just an observation. Good luck everyone! :D

any time your currency drops the way the WSD has been dropping you lose purchasing power regardless of what the market does. If the S fund is up7% YTD and the dollar dropped 10%, you get my drift. We need a strong dollar.Can not be a super power and be weak economically. We need to bite the bullit and prop up our currency again. Although a weak dollar is good for our export, what do we export any more?

Subprime still got'em shaken, that must mean a rally is just around the bend. I only wish I could add some more to the pot. Don't think I am bullish, I'm just a opportunist.

The fly in the ointment could be WMT and HD. If we don't get good earnings and guidance from those two ................................ be prepared for pain.

Check out NIKK Average chart. UGLY!!! Do they know something?

Rally time!!!

Walmart beat the Street and Home Depot missed, but only by a penny. Get ready folk the spin masters will make this look like the golden egg. Retail spending better than expected and we already know about the subprime housing scam so HD was expected.

:confused: The question of the week is: what are those Traders eating for lunch? It sure slows down the early morning coffee and donuts rush, whatever it is.

Vets Day last year TSP was open.

Any of you guys got a good enough memory to remember Vets Day weekend last year?

November 11 was a Saturday in 2006 and the Friday before and the Monday after both had share prices logged so TSP was open for business.

Why was TSP open last year and not this year?
