Tempest's Account Talk

If it turns around after Tuesday for me that would be just great -then I pick up more shares at a lower prices due my tsp pay period FERS contribution.

Heh-let's not recover too fast.

Someone said they were hoping the "I" Fund shares would go to 23.50 so they could pick up a few shares. If that happen I'd go 100% "I".

23.50; I could handle the pain for that.

It's important to take the long view.

We could simply be setting up for a climactic bottom today to be followed by one heck of a big V upside. The small investor is not in this market - this is all hedge funds and private equity. Companies are busy pick up shares on the cheap. I feel a 400 point rush to judgement on the way - but what do I know. I do remember the first bottom in 2002 with back to back 400 point moves to the upside - I'm ready for a "meltup".

Still 30% S, 70% I going into next week (and I'm writing this on a Wednesday night!) After what everyones been through I really can't understand a move to 'G' now :confused: (Unless your ready to retire.)

If you hung in through last week -what's the worse that can happen? More of the same - only a little longer? Your not going to lose your percentage of shares.

Right now I'm not really that far away from making money back I lost over the last 2 weeks. (I picked up some 'I' last week and picked up more cheap shares on payday and that helped).Hell, if it dives again I'll pick up some more 'I'. And if it dives next week that would be GREAT since next week is pay day and I get MORE shares cheaper.

Oh well .

After a string of winning days, many are anticipating a pullback due to profit-taking or bad news. The market usually does not go straight up and therefore a retest of the recent low is likely.
I hope the retest is on the day I purchase more shares from my TSP contribution.:)

You ever get the flu so bad that you get sick of being sick; and all of a sudden you get better?:rolleyes:

Well I'm sick and BORED with the following: The Month of August (we're only half way through it), volatilty, hedge funds, subprime fiasco (DUH! We were talking about this before the Shanghai Surprise in February), 200 point corrections, Cramer,... did I mention volatility?, talking head commentary, major stock transaction the last 30 minutes before closing due to computer trading by hedge funds...

Now I've been good I went through my Major Correction everyone warned about-and took it like a Man. I was in it the whole time in 100 percent equities!!!:mad:

Can we please get down to business now and back to MAKING SOME MONEY over the next several weeks and not just ONE DAY!!!

I feel the same way. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired!

I’m ready for some optimism and I hope others in the market feel the same way. :D

Think about this: China's reserves are currently accumulating at the rate of over $100 billion per quarter and a lot of this money could be aggressively managed by their sovereign funds to buy assets based in this country. Other countries are explicitly and implicitly following China's lead - they all will come.

Ahh yes my TSP account picks up more shares this week at a lower price. It's all good.

It's important to take the long view.:D:D:D

To the Moon, Alice! TO THE MOON!!!!:nuts::nuts:

ka-Ching

JACKPOT!!!! (sound of coins dropping in slot machine coin dispenser *thunk*thunk*thunk.......) :laugh::laugh:

Yesterday I made good all my losses from that correction/buying opportunity in July/August; with a little extra profit on the side. Stayed 100% equities the whole time.
Took over a month to do it.

A Good Day.
Gonna have to find some pallets and a forklift.
Yeah I know..down the road; corrections, dips, BUYING OPPORTUNITIES!!!:D
Still 20% S, 80% I since COB 8/20/07

Same as it ever was..... same as it ever was.....

It's going to cost about that much for my 1Lt to live in downtown Waikiki. But that is what she wants to do. She should arrive sometime in November. She gets promoted to Captain which should ease some of her expenses. But life on Oahu should be fine.

She'll like Oahu. Only sand is at the beach.

'I' underperformed today.
Good.
I pick up shares at a cheaper price tomorrow when my TSP payroll deductions purchases more 'I' shares.

Ah a difference of a month-from Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon' to Kipling's

'If'

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Might pickup some 'C' Fund shares today. It's important to diversify.:D
Hmm or should I wait for prices to go lower?

Decisions, decisions...

My daughter just flew from Oahu to Maui for a few days of vacation. The maximum load on the plane was 9 passengers. She's having a great time and will be going back to work next Monday with the 25th Infantry. My holiday spirits this year are great even if I am being devalued on a constant basis - no pain no gain. You take care.

You to.
In LA right now for Thanksgiving.

As an aside-2 days before last Thanksgiving my Father (83) got a diagnosis of Prostate Cancer. 3 months later same thing happen to me (54). We both took the cure (radiation seeds).

I have much to be thankful for.
