Tempest's Account Talk

Been in 100% G since 3/1/07. Watching how the market shakes out. 25% quick sorties down the road.
No more 100% in other funds for the time being (except G). Spread the risk.
Live in Hawaii so I have to make decision early morning and at work. I don't post from there.

Re: Tempest Account talk

Good to see you posting your moves, Tempest. I hope this year ends on a positive note for you and all on this board!

Re: Tempest Account talk

Thanks-now is as good a time as any. Really would like to show my moves before the bell - I'm in at 5AM. I can do it on Fridays at home since I work credit hours. But I don't post anything when I'm not on a computer I don't own.

Re: Tempest Account talk

Read the rules found in sticky notes at the top of Members' Accounts forum. It's fine to post early in morning for that trade day. If you post to your account on Friday afternoon, your allocation change will post in the Weekly Tracker on the following trade day, usually Monday COB. You must post your fund allocation change by 12:00 pm EST to get fund prices for that trade day. Only post a change in your TSP allocation. We do not want to hear that you remain at present allocation unless its been almost three months without an entry. Then you must post an entry in your account that you remain at present fund allocation. Also, you add fund allocation changes to you account thread by clicking the "Post Reply" button in your account thread.

Re: Tempest Account talk

It was just a nibble yesterday when I went in "I" for 20%. IFT'd back to "G" for 100%.
See how it shakes out over the weekend.
Capital preservation is my main goal in this volatile market. Like the man said.
"Be right-sit tight". :D

Re: Tempest Account talk

Did very, very good in the "I" today-and I have been very careful since my Feb 27th. losses- I am in striking distance of where I was Feb 27th. I was going into "S" tomorrow per Ebbtracker-but I will wait around in "G" to get my penny. Didn't know there was a holiday in Japan-don't know how that will help or hurt.

Re: Tempest Account talk

I am a relative newcomer to all of this, but my gut says we see somewhat of a selloff this Friday in the C and S.

My gut will probably be wrong and the euphoric rally will strengthen (people rushing to catch the train they fear is leaving the station). :cheesy:

Re: Tempest Account talk

Tempest,
I think most of us on the board are going to be playing it safe until probably tuesday. I will probably be moving G and then F for monday.

Those are my 2 pennies.

"F" was a loser today.

Screw the "F" fund.

The smiley with the hammer is a Realtor-I'm on the receiving end.

Re: Tempest Account talk

Yep, I was in F today also and went to G for Monday. Now watch the F Fund go into the Money Galaxy Monday. LOL

Re: Tempest Account talk

HAHAHAHA yeah I was thinking the same thing. Watch "G" actually lose a penny (first time in TSP history) when I park there HAHAHAHA

Re: Tempest Account talk

Would have went 100% but us old timers (53 years old -25 years service) have to take a conservative approach so it's 1%G 49%S and 50%I for now. And there I sit.

I made money last year just sitting in those funds (with a bit more in G). "Market Timing" hasn't worked for me the last 3 months. It does for other people-but not for me.

Good Luck in your trades.

Re: Tempest Account talk

Please add commas (or ; or /) to separate the fund percentage allocations when you make an entry in your account. Its hard to read and mistakes can be made. I see a percentage and adjacent to the right is a fund. Its easy to associate the two but this would be in error. Your cooperation would be appreciated.

This was your post:
40% S 60% I Cob 4/13
This is how I edited it.
40% S, 60% I Cob 4/13

Re: Tempest Account talk

My daughter has been extended by three months so won't be back in Oahu until sometime in November. I'm planning on visiting Na Hoku in downtown Oahu for a fine set of pearls - and this market is helping me to pay for them.

Re: Tempest Account talk

November is a windy-sometimes wet month.
(And today it's blustery and wet. Not one for the tourists.)

Yes a lot of people had their tours extended on this island who are in the Marines and Army. I always say a prayer for these soldiers.
