Tax Cuts

But, I would support a Flat Tax.:cool:

yeah i think it's time for a fat tax too. i mean c'mon we've already dang near killed the smokers and drinkers before they could kill themselves, lost revenue stream in my opinion.

so lets go after the fatties next, you know the ones who pay x$ per month for their books and to stand on a scale just to commiserate with others who reassure them it's a disease and not a behavioral choice, it's ok go ahead eat up buttercup, i feel your gain.

it's killing our country, literally, and would do wonders for health care costs.

y'all want fries with that?

Our nation was strongest economically in the 1950's and 1960's, compared to other nations around this planet.

What were the tax structures then?

I think we ought to duplicate the economic structures that were successful when we had superior economic growth. That would be....TOP TAX RATES OVER 70%, and a growing middle class. Not all the money being sucked to the richest 1% of the population, and a shrinking middle.

James (Jim in Beltway???),

After thinking this through I kinda agree. But, only after really thinking it through...

That tax system paid for that spending program.

Here is a fair deal:

We approve the 1950/60 tax code (with all of its stupid real estate write-offs and stuff) and we challenge EVERY new spending program sice 1963 (Kennedy). If we want a department (DoE) or entitlement (Medicare and indexing Social Security) or spending program than we fully fund it with realized revenue.

James, that is fair...
And, you know what...

We will be able to fund many of the departments, entitlements, and spending programs because our economy grew dramatically after Reagan.

Lets shake on it:)

I'm sure this will just be another brick in the wall of worry. No wonder insiders have been selling their brains out the past 3 months.

Two Senate procedural votes on Democratic measures to extend George W. Bush-era tax cuts for people who are not super wealthy failed on Saturday, preventing the measures from moving forward. The votes sought to extend the Bush tax cuts for families making under $250,000 and $1 million, respectively.

Bullitt, no worries!!!

Anyone think the Obama tax code will stick longer than one or two paychecks?

When everyone gets jacked with increased rates, the married get whacked with the marriage penalty, the educated get mauled with the student loan interest phase out, etc...

It will be a teachable moment.
An expensive one.
But good.

The Libs should have shut up and made the Bush tax code permanent.

Yep. Let's balance the budget. Except for any money that has anything to do with me.

Steel,

Lets get back to the 1950/60 tax rate of 70%

And, challenge (and fully fund) ANY Department (DoE), entitlement (Medicare and Social Security indexing), and spending programs (I think unemployment benefits) that came after those golden years (ie. Kennedy).

Wow, I just realized that FANNIE required 20% equity. We could just forclose on the folks who bought houses with less than 20% equity!!!

We have a deal.
My money is that we will be immediately in surplus.

Then, we could then make decisions on the programs and tax code we want and need.

The only problem is that I don't know how to buy real estate shelters. All that cr@p died with the Reagan tax code reform. But fair is fair. If we want 1960 era tax brackets than I want 1960 era spending and 1960 era write-offs and deductions.

:p

We could catch up to the Chinese in infrastructure development at that rate!
1 Gov't sponsored job for every family!

It all just goes to show, we're gonna need even MORE money in our TSP's, no matter what happens. Nobody goes broke paying taxes but it hurts, brother, it hurts.

Obama, GOP reach deal to extend tax cuts
WASHINGTON – Brushing past Democratic opposition, President Barack Obama announced agreement with Republicans Monday night on a plan to extend expiring income tax cuts for all Americans, renew jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed and grant a one-year reduction in Social Security Taxes..The emerging agreement also includes tax breaks for businesses that the president said would contribute to the economy's recovery from the worst recession in eight decades.

Hey, watch it with the names..Filibuster..good word, stupid application though..makes no sense and the Dumbass Sanders never answered Ed's question..LOL..filibuster, indeed..LOL

Let's have some fun...

Which 40 Senators will spend a 'Weekend with Bernie' to filibuster this thang...
And, for any chance, he better get going...
In a month he has no chance of finding enough morons...

Here are the easy dummy picks:
Boxer, Barbara
Brown, Sherrod
Coons, Christopher (the Bearded Marxist)
Dodd, Christopher (Go Bernie Go, Gotta be quick to count on him)
Durbin, Dick
Feingold, Russ (Go Bernie Go, Gotta be quick to count on him)
Franken, Al
Harkin, Tom (Go Bernie Go, Gotta be quick to count on him)
Kerry, John (easy bet, he likes protest votes)
There are others - but these are true blue goobers.

Scratch Dick Durbin, he is too clever to get caught up in this BS. He voted for the Debt Panel recommendation and is slowly coming to the "dark side" because he took notice of the mid-term election results.:D
