sugarandspice's Account Talk

SugarandSpice,
Jim Morrison had one the best voices I've ever heard - and his expression was among the greatest of all time.

So close your eyes - totally open your mind to an environment that can only be found with the imagination - shut everything out except this ONE SONG. Here you need to picture this being sung to you as only he could do:

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire

Need to run - lots to finish up - so probably won't get back.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

It's really too bad the TSP screwed us on the IFT situation. This kind of volatility is when you can really make some substantial gains. The traders paradise is over in the TSP.

You're right - and that's very well put.

In light of the present economic circumtances, however, it would seem highly likely that the TSP fell under the strains of the Financial Sector and that all concerned were more victims of the underlying conditions, than it being an independent decision of the TSP Board or an isolated decision from Barclays.

If Barclays (and the others) continued to reap in fortunes - the IFTs would have continued as always.

Pelosi, Reed, Blunt, Frank, Paulson and any of those other clowns that came walking in mass to the microphones on Saturday night in some sort of confidence unity, telling us how they have reached an agreement and that we just need to put it on paper to save the taxpayer, economy, world markets, recession, depression, Mainstreet,Wallstreet, or whatever the hell the giant disaster is, better watch out because their credibilty is going to be shot with the dog and pony shows in front of the cameras. They better start shooting straight. As Taber said to Harding in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest ....."Play the game and knock off the Bulls%$t."

Nice... my favorite movie of all time (check out my signature).

Many incumbents are gonna go back home and find out that their constituents also wanted more transparency.

Now, how are you gonna play this market with only 2 IFTs and split personalities?

Geez ... that whole movie isn't safe without redaction.

Much like today on Wall Street -- and the capitol.

That fraudelent press conference Sat. night was meant to instill calm and give confidence to the investment community. They all stood there fully knowing it was NOT a done deal. They all thank each other profusely and patted each other on the back about what great things they all did. It is obvious that it was a total sham. And so knowing it wouldn't pass on but pretending everything was fine, What would have happened if they said nothing? The "faces of deception" need to be held accountable.

Well, the Democrats voted in the majority to pass, so Pelosi was right about her side of the fence. And Paulson, he just wanted to look sure of himself even after he had gotten multiple poundings. I think it was a last ditch attempt to appear to like eating this, and to sell to unconvinced that this really was a cure. Didn't work. We'll just have to tell Bush and Paulson it's still a sow's ear, we tried to make a purse out of it since that's what you told us was necessary, but there's just too much lard. Time to fold this hand, stop trying to play it to look like you are "doing the right thing" becaise we are hearing more and more it's wrong.

Could this move have been a way to pull the rug out from under the Democrats? I can see how it will be played up to make the Republican party look like it is not fully in line with Bush while it was a large number of Democrats who voted for this bill from the Bush Administration. It will make Americans feel a little more comfortable voting Republican if Americans feel they are not voting for Bush.
