Just finished crunching my taxes. Boy am I poor. Taxable income to total income tax is 2.91%. I would say that is pretty low. Screw that "fair tax" bs!

What does this ratio mean? Are you saying that your total income tax rate is 1/2.91 = 34%? If so, that is about what mine is also and I agree with your "fair tax" assessment. The top 5% of all taxpayers pay over 50% of all income taxes - I'd say that is more than "fair", particularly since they usually get the least government services in return.
 
Re holding SDS, what's your opinion of buying into bear funds now? Any recommendations with strategies? I was thinking about a small entry $2k -$4k. Thanks.

2.91% is what I paid on my "taxable income".
 
After fees, made 6.6% on a 6 day trade of SDS. Three days for the trade to settle gives me a break and some time to look for a new set up.

Welcome to the mb! I'm not a bear fund guy if you mean mutual funds. I'm a swing trader that works ETF's and sells.
