If you have not heard, I am in the hospital with my youngest son. The back fusion on Wed. was a great success. Yesterday was a major turning point. They took him off the continuous morphine, removed two fluid drains, removed one of two IV's, and removed the catheter.:embarrest:

Physical therapy and pain management signed off on him and now we wait for the glorious bowl movement:nuts: and surgeon sign off.

I slept about two hours last night because he tried sleep walking at midnight. When will is stop?:worried:

Still holding onto my UCO and a small toe in the TSP. If we break much lower I will be very tempted to buy 25% more across the board. My buy was at 770 and we are down another 4.5%.

My plan has changed a bit, while the major moving averages are still in a decline my decision to step into the market 25% was based on the idea if we head down to 650 from where I bought, 770, that would be a 16% decline. I am in 25% so rough math wise I would only be down 4%. That and my contribution DCAing will make for a very nice base on my TSP.

If we go much lower that that .................... see you in Canada.:D

Hope the Boy feels better soon Show. I hate it when the young ones are sick/hurt, makes you feel helpless.

You guys are great! Thank you! I had to run home for the morning as my other son had a Dr. appt. we did not want to reschedule. Son #2 should be coming home today according to the Fellow that works with the Doctor.

Whooo, I'm getting tired.:D Life is good and getting better.:D

May your son have a good recovery. Hopefully, you and rest of the family can get some much needed rest. I finally rolled TSP into regular IRA /Scottrade and bought SDS probably at high of the day this morn.

Show-me,
I feel terrible for not keeping up with you better. As soon as I send this post I'll sign off and start praying for you - your son - and the entire family.

My daughter in Korea was showing some of the Koreans how to climb a tree. She is 6'1" (has my skin tone as well). Well anyway she grabbed a branch over her head and started walking up the tree. The Koreans are oohhing and aweeing like wow - so you just hold on and walk right up the tree. She gets her legs around the branch and it breaks - and she crashes to the ground.

She lost the feeling in her bottom for about 4 days and didn't have a bowel movement until the 5th day. I didn't share this on the MB but trust me - when she had a BM we were all thrilled to pieces.

OK - will see my next patient and then PRAY - PRAY - PRAY

God's richest blessings and the most glorious healing....

Steady

Hey man... great minds think alike ..

Does that mean your son is home as well?

Yes and what a great feeling. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers, he is doing very well.

Here is the quick and dirty on what they did. About a eight inch incision straight down the spine and then they pull and stretch the muscles out in order to fit the titanium rods and screws in place. No cutting of muscle, just stretching them way out in order to slip them under the tissue. Can you say OUCH!:( That is the whole source of the pain.

I think the worst part for him was the morphine. He enjoyed it a little then he got very frustrated with it and would not self medicate. He hated the lethargic wasted feeling and wanted to go home. Plus the morphine made his breathing shallow requiring O2 and it shut down his bowls.

He is home and returning to his old self.

Hank Greenberg is painting a great picture of how this is a total mess and how the government and all of the private sector players were lying and are still lying.

Like I said before AIG was a front for the government money laundering and fleecing of the taxpayer. And it still continues, they companies that had CDS insurance should have got zero because AIG was insolvent. Nobody should have got paid one penny because AIG CDS division was broke and the government, Hank Paulson former CEO of Goldman, brokered a fleecing of the taxpayer and companies like Goldman got paid full value instead of zero. Goldman got paid big time.

This was all a ruse of saving the economy and look at were we are now. They should stop all spending and take back all monies paid out, even monies paid to salaries. Screw'em, they screwed us and continue to. No one has been arrested or charged. The taxpayer continues to get screwed and I am becoming more in favor of taxing the **** out of the wealthy because no one is being held responsible and alot of people got paid big time.
