Should the LOUNGE be abolished?

Let me say this. In the last two day's I have been Thanked by almost every woman on this site either by way of PM or Rep Points with added messages of Thanks.

I think us men should remember, We have a small percentage of woman to men on this site and some things that we think is funny (And I think is funny too) is not funny and even sometimes disrespectful to there gender. They don't speak up openly because they know they are outnumbered and fear being laughed at and humiliated.

I have been thanked by 9 woman. What do we have maybe 15 woman total. :blink:

I think KevinD is onto something as far as When we click the field Today's Posts don't include "The Lounge". Make it a couple extra clicks to get to and at that point Carry-On for the most part with whatever you want to say. Also "The Lounge" posts don't bump the financial posts. :)
 
Silly Wabbit. I Voted NO.

I belong to many MBs over a wide range of topics

All of them have a room to kick back in and post off-subject.
The Lounge should stay.

If you dont like it, this is a no-brainer...dont GO THERE! :D

As for the topics showing in recent posts, so what.

You dont have to navigate this site by Recent or Todays posts - There are ample ways to get where you need to go. Go to the topics from the main board or look in your own post history!

Why not create a short cut like was done for the politics thread for the lounge where the posts don't go to today's post but have the number of todays posts next to it. Lounge 15 (new posts) so if it gets hot people can check it out. You also can have the lounge's post appear on todays post on weekends.

The Lounge has a large following. Please keep it. On a day like this (3/10th) we need some distractions away from the market.
 
Some of you might forget we work in a PC environment, subject to the perceptive whims of those who feel offended. I love boobs (play with them often) but hey I also love the privilege of being allowed to surf TSP.Talk at work. As a Sargent, I'm sometimes forced to crack the whip because if we allow someone to go just a bit too far, they take the ball and run with it.

Most times I stay out of the lounge, however the New post, and Today's post links don't filter out titles like the booby one. Whatever, you're either offended about the thread, or you're offended over someone who told you they were offended. Best advise I have is to get over yourself, the world doesn't revolve around you. This is a worthless topic to waste a poll over, some of you Jackwagons think this forum is a democracy :D
 
I voted to keep the lounge. :) It's a nice place to relax, unwind and get to know everyone. It's easier to share thoughts, ideas, and questions when you know the people you are interacting with.

You also have to take into consideration the title of the thread. If you are easily offended, you should have enough sense to stay out of a thread titled "Man Cave" or "Adult Content: Must be 18 or over to Enter" :embarrest::p

This is a coed forum with various age groups. If you go too far, someone will always be offended. Consider your audience and act accordingly. ;)
 
undecided at this point. i mean i cross the line a bunch, and sometimes even on accident. it would help if we had, you know, like a dictionary? of all the things you can't say over here?

i think there is a difference between entertainment and entrapment, i just not sure what it is, and sometimes they both look the same.
 
Of course we should not give up the lounge. This is a place to meet others. Discuss what your doing and up to.

There's millions of subjects that can be discussed in the lounge but there has to be rules and regulations. The lounge is not a place where "anything goes".

I don't think there is a list of rules that was ever made up in the past because a list wasn't needed.

But now it looks as if a list of rules and boundaries and limits and whats OK and not OK possibly needs to be made because some don't know when they are crossing the line. The list can be modified and added to as we go.

I can not vote on either answer to the question because both answers are biased. A plain YES Or NO to the question would be enough.

There has got to be rules. NO one joined this site for the entertainment of the subject Boobs.

No, having a little fun is just fine with me, I enjoy the videos, music, jokes and stuff and I think it gives the members a chance to get to know each other let their hair down and forget talking about business for a while. That's how we have made all of these friends, but there should be boundaries and lines that shouldn't be crossed, rules are good and keep the dogs and cats from fighting so much. Have fun that's what I say.:toung:
