Screwy News

Well, if Wiki is to be believed, conservatives outweigh libs, even in OreGONE, and hardcore conservatives even outweigh hardcore liberals there as well. Since 1988, somehow the blue voters have outshouted the red voters, it seems. 1988 was the year of the big shift in elections dominance for some reason.
Population's political ideologySimilar to the West Coast states of California and Washington, Oregon has a high percentage of people who identify as liberals. A 2013 Gallup poll that surveyed the political ideology of residents in every state found that people in Oregon identified as:[SUP][20][/SUP]

Another study on the state's political ideology noted that the state's conservatives were the most conservative of any state (more so than Utah or Tennessee) and that the state's liberals were more liberal than any state (more so than Vermont or D.C.).[SUP][21]

i think they prefer the term socialists, which can include vegans, hillbilly timber folk, metrosexuals, and old-rashioned hippies, and usually consist of driving toyota prius's and naming their children sunstar or meadow.

once i dated a gal in oregon that had one blue/grey eye and one brown one, things got kind of weird. her name was star. true story.
I'm sorry but I distinctly remember my teacher in the 5th grade telling me that Oregon is left of California, and you know how far left CA is!:nana::nana: Was that Gal a Malamute or a Husky?:banana:I'm on a roll!:lmao::lmao:

actually, she reminded me of a wolf. it creeped me out and scared me a little when i would wake up and she was just staring all hungry looking at me, i felt like i was about to be had for lunch. but she did like it on all fours. hmmmm, now you're getting me confused.

what you have to keep in mind is that a 'moderate' in oregon is actually a flaming liberal compared any other state. and an oregon 'liberal' is actually a militant progressive. it's all relative. either way, they got the conservatives outnumbered 2-1.

point being, the conservatives that remain, are some of the hardest-core conservatives there are. And they very do much mind being lumped in with socialists, much less communists. to each their own. west-siders live in a different world than east-siders do. geographically, economically and politically.

Speaking of Screwy News! I would take an additional 200 years or so, but wouldn't that mean we can't have children?

Scientist claims immortality within reach - National News | TVNZ

you can have all the kids you want, as long as you support them. unfortunately, your pension and social security will have to go though, because society just cannot swing the payments for folks who retire at 60 and live to 260, see greece.

The older I get the more I realize my batteries just aren't what they used to be. Why would I want to live longer? You can live to be 200 but you're all worn out at 80. Sheesh...Let me live...then let me rest..

Naked Tree Huggers Mount Eucalyptus Trees | Fox News

That region was devastated by a deadly fire in 1991. Twenty-five people were killed, 150 injured and more than 3,300 homes were incinerated.
But Gescheidt doesn’t believe trees cause forest fires. “The claim about trees being flammable is nonsense,” he told Campus Reform. “All living trees and forests are fire resistant.”

Reaction to the nude protest was muted. One critic said the protesters were “about as hot as you’d expect.”

you can't make this stuff up.

“All living trees and forests are fire resistant.”

Resistant to low temperature fires, but everything has an ignition point.

San Francisco testing pee-repelling paint to deter public urination | Fox News

“The wall advises not to urinate there. It’s in three languages. If they happen to take that chance, they can get their feet or pants wet,” director of Public Works, Mohammed Nuru told the L.A. Times. “It does work. Believe me.”

aahhhh, looks like now the californians are catching up with the german's techniques to eradicate the universal party town scurge of wildpinklers.

Pee Buddy helps women avoid dirty toilets | Fox News

Made from waterproof cardboard, Pee Buddy is a single use funnel which allows women to micturate without having to squat on a dirty toilet seat and risk infection. The user simply needs to hold Pee Buddy between her legs, directly under the flow area. They should tilt their hips slightly forward, ensuring the funnel is tilted downwards.

and just so the ladies don't feel left out of the festivities, there is a new disposable device so they too can now stand and get their pants and shoes wet (as opposed to just their heels) like the rest of us. will wonders never cease?

Northern enclosure: Alaska's one-house town, home to hundreds

Only about 220 people live in Whittier year-round, working in commercial fishing, recreation and tourism or for the state ferry and railroad. Most of them have homes in the tower, as though they were occupying separate bedrooms in one huge house. About their isolation together, they say: "We're all family here."

One big family. With lots of love and, some say, equal parts dysfunction. Everyone takes care of each other, but everyone also knows each other's business.

i think if a job ever opens up and i get the chance, i might move to whittier, ak.

heck, there's only 250 folks there which is half the number of the village i call home now, so i would probably get twice the peace and quiet.
