In loving memory of the best moderator TSPTalk has ever had,to include myself, I reveal my identity for all to see. Although I may get banned again, I do it in Spaf's honor. He knew who I was and trusted me to keep my nose clean and unconfrontational.

God bless him and his family.

Spaf was a gentleman and a teacher. He sent me a PM or two explaining the trading terms at a time when I was just starting to take control of my retirement. His style was not judgmental and highly appreciated. His advice and insight were and still are highly valued. I have missed him and now will miss him more for his permanent absence. I wish his family healing and only happy memories.
 
Spaf was a Vietnam helicopter pilot and every time he dropped into a hot LZ he was saving lives. There are many of us that knew him for his distinguished bravery - a true hero. And I'm sad again today just remembering. He made it home when 58,000 didn't and I suspect that helped define who he was. You are in my thoughts and heart.
 
Spaf had a lot of respect for you too Birch. He always wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt when things got a little dicey in Birch Talk. He saw the good in everyone and reminded us often.

Rest in peace, you have earned it many times over!

I have to admit that I did not always know what Spaf was talking about. If I was dealing with a particular issue on the board, say two members feuding, he'd send me a PM like:

"A coyote does not eat alone, but a raccoon will swim for food."

I'm sure there was some wisdom in it, but I'd be like... huh? He cracked me up. :D

Years ago, I flew regularly in a small ship in steep mountainous forested terrain with a former Nam pilot. We followed the terrain closely with sometimes very rapid maneuvers. I never doubted his abilities even when others in the ship turned white. Honor to those who served saving lives that way, and came home. It was a rare priviledge to fly with someone similar to Spaf.

Thanks Tom. This was the one I was able to get to, 2005 something. It just seemed to define Spaf. I hope his quote doesn't upset anyone. His good days are just starting in his new location.

Spaf was a Special Friend, and a very patient guy trying to educate me with the Dow and other investor-type things from my very first sign-on; I think he privately gave up on my logistic skills! As a Moderator, he was diplomatic when I needed a reprimand or two. His sense of humor was strong - did anyone try his Breakfast Specialty with the Pace hot sauce & the Mexican seasoning? The Lily-pad clock was quite appropriate! That was probably easier to obtain than the jet - it sitting in a homeowner's driveway - `the right to bear arms' cartoon he shared with us -
A man is known by his works - we have known him for such a short time of his life -and God surely is acknowledging the work Spaf has done in his whole lifetime. My heartfelt sympathy to his wife and all the family - Grandma/Pat

wonderful gift! if there is any other gifts going to the family let us know please, i just saw this post i might be to late.

spaf helped me out as well when i first started here, he will be missed,

I Salute You Sir for all you did for our men and women, I will Honor you Everytime i help an injured patient, For Spaf!
