Just an amazing individual. Reminded me of John Wayne. True Grit. I will miss you show-me. You

I found this board too late to get to know show-me, and judging from the comments of so many people who know him it was clearly my loss. I look forward to meeting him one day.

At a funeral I attended over the weekend the Pastor said that when a believer dies he/she is escorted into the presence of Jesus by Angels. Mike is now able to be free from all his afflictions and commune with all who have gone before him.

I didn't see this thread until this morning. I know it's too late for the funeral, but I did the paypal donation this morning. I didn't know Mike personally, but I loved his avatar and his words of wisdom. He will be missed.

i don't know how these things are usually handled. i suppose there are a number of options.

i like the idea about a living plant/tree but that could be problematic: does anyone have contact with the family to see what may be appropriate or preferred? maybe mrs. show-me is not a green thumb? i would not be comfortable initiating that conversation and not sure how it would be recwived. how to arrange delivery of a random plant to an unknown address?

we do have contact info for the memorials mike specifed but some have indicated that $200 may be inadequate and prefer to support those causes individually.

maybe we need to poll the tsp community and go with the best idea?

I just learned today of this awful news about Mike (Show-me)..It pleases me to see that he had so many people here that cared for him and loved him...I'm sure if he could, he would say thanks to all of you right now..as that was the kind of guy he was..always quick with a joke and a smile of appreciation for whatever the way you were..everyone was his friend..

Goodbye Mike..Rest in true peace.

I also just read this post. We all get so busy with our own lives that we forget to think of the others that have had an impact on our lives. You will be missed brother. God speed!
