Rick Santelli tribute thread.

Santelli might be a great addition to O's advisory staff.

Interestingly, in the video w/Liesman, Rick appealled to wisdom of market forces, until near end of video when he conceded market forces have been distorted by gov actions. Seems like market forces have been distorted far earlier than recent bailouts, but for decades (or most of last century) by gov deregs and regs. What would be example of 4- 8 yr period when gov didn't tamper w/ markets?

The government intervention was very evident since last March when they propped up the sale of Bear-Sterns. Bernacke's rate cut to 0.25% will do nothing but promote inflation in the coming months and make the dollar weaker against foreign currencies. The FED seems to be promoting a CHEAP dollar to stimulate exports.

And, that IS the type of person needed in Washington D.C.

I keep playing it over and over.:D

I loved it. We sure need more people to say what he did, because what he said is what a majority feel. All the polls showed more of the public against all these bailouts.

Go Rick, hopefully his voice won't be squashed now.

Everyone e-mail the President and let him know how you feel. I want computerize opinion polls in real time at the White House. It is after all a Democracy.

I couldn't agree more. In fact, middle class America is waking up and finding something terrible is smelling up our country. This redistribution of wealth is going to to harm our country. I for one am disgusted with this whole bailing out of the irresponsible.

"Dear CNBC,
Santelli is the man.
good day,
aston
p.s. The rest of you are morons."
SANTELLI_BUTTON.jpg

That's an actual e-mail that a viewer just sent us, at 11:22 this morning. There are about 5,000 others just like it that have flooded our e-mail box since yesterday morning, when Rick Santelli issued the shot heard round the world. And that's just in the Squawk e-mail box. Close to 1.4 million people have relived the moment on CNBC.com ... hundreds of thousands more have checked out bootleg copies on YouTube and other Web sites.
One viewer sent us a special "Santelli For Senate" button he'd created. But he may have been shooting too low ... hundreds of others have written in "Santelli for President" ballots.
Still doubt that Rick touched a deep nerve with his rant against the homeowner bailout package? Check this out: Overnight on Facebook, his fans have come out in hordes. There's a "Tribute Group" to Rick Santelli (609 members); and a "Join the Chicago Tea Party" group (435 members); and "Rick Santelli for Man of the Year" (173 members).
Think it's easy to rack up members like that? Think again. At last check, the "I'm in Love With Becky Quick" group had exactly 0 members! (No kidding — I did not make this up!)
Editors Note: It bears noting that the "Becky Quick Rocks!" group on Facebook has 53 members. And from another Squawk Box e-mailer:

Seems like the White House has invited Santelli to Washington after he reviews their plan on the government website (which, apparently the vice-president doesn't know the correct URL). Gibbs had a very sharp tongue for Rick telling him he would buy him a cup of coffee -- decaf.

Rick appears serious on taking them up on their offer. He said he preferred tea.

The White House may not know what they're in for. I wouldn't underestimate Rick. And it may tick some folks off if they are dismissive of a reporter that simply calls 'em like he sees 'em.

Are these people really in charge of our country? Unbelievable.
Gibbs is a Socialist moron :D:D

I'd like to meet one person that is in charge of the country that is not a moron. Elections are popularity contests and marketing campaigns.

My letter to the President.

Mr. President,

Stop the spending! Get rid of Gibbs or at the very least he needs to apologize to the American people and Rick Santelli. We have a voice and Rick Santelli is that voice of reason! Just because Gibbs does not agree does not mean we can not have a opinion.
Are you listening Mr. President?
I do pay my taxes, medical bills, mortgage, etc. I do not want to be force to pay for other peoples bad behavior, lies, mistakes, or bad luck. I don't blame anyone for my cancer or any other bad events in my life.
It is not fair that I work hard to educate myself, be honest, pay my bills, pay my taxes, make good financial decisions and you reward people who do not.
I'm not saying they should live on the street but we should not pay for their house. Put them in a shelter and let me buy the house at its depressed value.
Give them food assistance but do not let them eat steak while I shop the sale for cheap hamburger. I have seen this at least 6 times in my life. Standing in line buy groceries on sale and with coupons while people in line with me using food assistance debit cards buying chips, soda, and STEAKS! No vegetables, no grains, no canned goods, no milk, just chips, sweet cakes, and STEAK. Then we get to pay their medical because they have diabetes. BRILLIANT!

Obama hits back at 'tea party' rant
Spokesman says CNBC analyst should switch to drinking decaf

"Referring to the government's intervention in household mortgage contracts, the CNBC analyst said, "The philosophical issue is this: In America, a card laid is a card played. OK. Contract law should be sacred. I don't know that any form of government should be able to come between a person who contracted with an institution and a person that signed on the dotted line."

Actually most of this was also on TV yesterday and again is public record. Kinda like a disclaimer. ;) Just another example of BHO worrying about what a private citizen has said that conflicts with his beliefs or his welfare package. I believe he needs to stay on point and worry about the entire country instead of what a private citizen says by expressing his freedom of speech.

First Rush and now Rick, well Joe the plumber could be the first. This guy scares me, that he takes umbrage when a private citizen expresses a differing POV than he has. But then that's another step towards socialsm. I've never seen a President worry about so much about conflicting POV's than this guy.

He needs to put his and his peoples efforts towards solving this countries problems and not respond to a person doing something that the Constitution clearly allows. If he doesn't nothing will get resolved.

Rick better be careful or BHO will turn his thugs loose on him, this guy doesn't like to have anyone publicly disagree with him. I've noticed people are doing much more whispering than before, must be worried about big brother. Maybe the Pope sent word back to BHO via Pelosi, to worry more about the big picture.
