Welcome Cod. Thanks for joining us! Stick around and you will learn a lot, including the investment approach that fits you.

Good luck!

Welcome aboard- glad to have you here.

If you are contributing to the TSP's L2040, then you are well on your way to having a nice, secure retirement in your old age. The military pension is nice, but it's not enough in and of itself after 20 to rely solely on for the rest of your life. A solid TSP account helps greatly.

Good luck!

Hello everyone, let me begin by stating I've been lurking on the forums for quite sometime. I have obtained a lot of information about TSP and investing in general from reading the content as well as message board.

As for me, I am a 27-yr old Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force and currently stationed at the Pentagon. Previous assignments include Presidio of Monterrey and RAF Lakenheath. I'm married with two kids and enjoy anything baseball-related and spending time with my family.

Right now I plan on doing 20-yrs in the USAF then retiring, so TSP is a way to put away even more money for retirement. My wife and I are planning to start a Roth IRA in the near future in hopes of ensuring we have a nice nestegg upon retirement. Since I'm new to investing, I have a good chunk of money in the L2040 fund; however, over the past year I have started shifting my contribution allocations to the specific funds. I'm hoping in a year or two, I will have less than 15% of my contributions going to the L2040.

Anything else you want to know, just ask.
