After 30 some years in congress, he'll hardly need to support himself... On a different note, I laughed my @$$ off last night watching him presiding over the gun control vote only to have to announce "the measure does not pass". That was hilarious!

After over 26 years of marriage, one day my bride looks over at me and says "maybe its time to go get a gun." After I recovered, I told her absolutely. After trying a few options at the range, we picked up a 45 and some good hollow point ammo. The range master told me I didn't have to worry since her groupings were tight... I told him I did have to worry... that I not **** her off :D

Well one down and a few more to go, along with a good cache of ammo, and we will be on our way to being "grandfathered" in when they repeal the second amendment... just sayin'
 
I love my Sig P220 45 and it's a great round for stopping power. There have been some recent studies done that concluded one of the best home defense weapons to have, some say better than a short barrel shotgun, is a 22 pistol. The study showed that since a 22 round is so easy to shoot it is also very easy to hit the target (person) that's coming into your home to harm you and if you put a few rounds into somebody they're either going to run out of your house or drop where they are. I thought it was interesting since I've always heard and believed a shotgun was the way to go for home defense.

I did want to look at the Sigs, but they didn't have any at the range to try and we both agreed it was best to try before you buy. Once I get my CCW permit, I will probably find one (from friends) and see if I like it first. I am thinking a Sig or FNH, but I guess we'll see if it better than the Springfield I have. With 9mm ammo so scarce, I think I will stick with the 45.

My bride mentioned a few of her coworkers are going to take the CCW class and it was her idea to go to the range again after work on Friday... I love her ;)
 
Take a good look at the Sig 1911 C3 (Concealed Compact Carry) I friggin love mine. I make fun of my 9mm loving friends, they're all consumed with mag capacity. With a .45, I just need one nicely placed bullet :). Here at the prison we see inmates all the time with numerous 9mm wounds. In my 18 years, I have yet to see a torso with multiple .45 holes....

We talked about that last night. After much discussion, the point was... all you have to do is hit them once, center mass :D

I carry a Glock 40 cal every day for work and it will likely always be my preferred go-to. It seems to be a good balance between stopping power and capacity.

The study I mentioned earlier was geared more to female shooters (wives/moms) who typically have smaller hands with less hand/arm strength and therefore are more likely to be much less accurate with a 45 frame and round. In close quarters inside a home a majority found it easier to very quickly dump 8 or 10 rounds into a target with a no-kick 22 round than try to hold a 45 center mass, under stress. That will typically solve the problem and the female shooters in the study said their confidence level to be able to defend from a home intruder was much higher with a gun they were not afraid to shoot (recoil) and knew they could just point center mass and hit the target over and over. They included a shotgun with buckshot rounds in the study and found similar results, mostly due again to a typical female's build and hand/arm strength being able to get the gun loaded (racked) and on target in a quick enough manner and then having the ability to get off more than one shot quickly due to the recoil.

We looked at the Glock 21, but it was way too small for me. We shot the Glock 30, but the Smithfield was more comfortable and we didn't like the small slide release (I know, pull and release). The Smithfield also had more safeties.

Everyone has a preference :)
 
After depending on my M-16 for several years at war I decided to buy a 22 Ruger back in 1974 - primarily because I didn't want to kill a teenager breakin.
 
Well, even with the markets going down over the last few trading days, some medium to long term systems are now going short. That is a little disconcerting...

IBM missed

MSFT missed

The only reason the markets have been staying as high as they have been is because the defensive sector stocks have been going up. Very similar to when large caps start out performing mid/small caps...

Today, mid/small caps showed some strength compared to the S&P and the NASDAQ was down 2x the other indexes... what does all this mean? I have no idea, but I am mostly in cash just to see where this is all going.

Only Time Will Tell...
 
Anyone have all or any of Monday's Autotracker? I thought I saved it, but apparently... I did not :(

I really think the market working on a season basis now there was a big POMO today (bigger than most) and yet we are still go down
 
Are you sure MSFT missed? They are up over 2.5% in premarket.

More POMO today and not economic news... market is going up :notrust:

Now the question is... Do we short the up days?
 
Well since no one is reading this thread, I thought I would whine real quick...

Just watching all my ill-gotten gains go down the toilet and hoping BT isn't right...
