RealMoneyIssues' Account Talk

I'm 100% S and staying in. These things go back and forth. So many people are sure a correction is coming that maybe it won't. Birch has a point when he says he loves that this rally is hated. If that's the case then the S Fund will surely behave more normal soon.

My Birchtree 300 fund has taken some lumps the last two days - but then again I've been doing considerable buying with my dividend reinvestments so I have nothing to complain about for the moment. If small cap under performance remains for the rest of the month there may be a pivot change happening - especially for mutual funds that are small cap heavy - I've seen it before.

Don't have the TSP prices yet, but my IRA is down over 15% in 2013 alone...

Looks like TSP will be right about even or a little negative depending on how Blackrock prices the drop in the completion fund...

Should have stayed in G...

If you curious about the actual numbers (just percentages, not $$), just PM me.

Many good folks seem to be worried over the small cap weakness - you could have warned them several weeks ago. The R2K is now down 3% - it's your fault.

Bought a hand full of UVXY a couple days ago, may put an in-the-money stop just to save myself if the PPT comes to town to save the day...

Well, it looks like the markets are getting pumped up again this afternoon... Could mean the jobs report won't be as good as folks are hoping...

Easier to stomach a drop from higher levels...

Nice come back for the markets... if it continues tomorrow, it looks like I will have made yet another bad trade...

Oh, yeah, was up 8+% in UVXY by 1pm and lost it all by the close...

Wow, Jobs report at 88k... ouch, so lets see what happens when the markets open... profit taking?

Real interesting that a 88k jobs report reduces unemployment by 0.1%; more people stopped looking for jobs?

I guess my question is should I take profits on UVXY while there are some?

Yes, the drop in unemployment is due to more people giving up on finding work and dropping out of the labor pool. We now have the lowest number of people looking for work since 1979.

But they continue telling us this is a recovery....right.....

Well, looks like the dip buyers are back... idiots might make us close the gap... figures...

I guess if we don't get a decent sell of now, the one we do eventually get will be... painful

When you have 50 million people on food stamps with free phones - who needs to work. Remember, illegitimacy pays a good wage and you get free housing.

Especially all the welfare the fake phoney neocons keep sending to millions living in the ME to Israel, Egypt, etc. Free healthcare and free housing living in Ariel. Illegitimacy sure does pay. Pretty sweet deal if you can get it, eh?

Yup. That treaty we signed with Israel and Egypt (which included the stuff you are mentioning) should be adjusted. We could take food from the mouths of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and - well I don't know - from the Israelis. I'm good with it. And, let's stop goosing up Pakistan. Better get our military out of Afghanistan first though... That $4 Bil is almost 0.4% of the FY2012 deficit. If we get real serious we might be able to cut the deficit by almost a point!!!

Hey, a point here, a point there (save a billion here, save a billion there), it might add up to real money...
:)

If it was only a point - but, it is less than half a point...:p

We have got to take a meat cleaver at the meat. Gotta get the Gubmint out of much of what the gubmint is doing. And, we have gotta accept the fact that the Baby Boomers voted to spend their retirement nest egg not in retirement but instead on the day after they 'invested' it into Social Security. The more time we wait to adjust these 'entitlements' the harder it will be.
