RealMoneyIssues' Account Talk

"At a House GOP closed-door retreat in Williamsburg, Va., Speaker John Boehner told lawmakers that they will insist members of Congress don't get paid until a budget is passed. Republicans are angry that the Democratic-controlled Senate has not passed a budget plan in four years."

I like that. But they probably would not miss the money unless they spend their money they spend the gov money!

I live in Boehner's district and even though I am a conservative I can't bring myself to vote for him. He can't seem to run the house with a majority. Obama ran all over him with the fiscal cliff.

Remember, he not only fighting the other party, he is fighting popular opinion which is dominated by the media. I am not defending him, just trying to put it in perspective.

Anyone who has/is in authority in the government/military at any level feels this same pressure. Now multiply it several fold by the fact that everything you do is put under a microscope, magnified, blown out of proportion or downright portrayed incorrectly (and known by a few hundred million of your closest friends).

It happens on both sides of the fence...

Well aware, but why not stand your ground - go over the cliff - pass a tax break for the middle class the next day with a republican majority- let the Senate or Obama so No!!!!!!!! How can the press spin that?

Not sure exactly, but they will...

"OMGosh, the country has gone OVER THE CLIFF. OH NO !!! Complete collapse of the US economy, details on news at 5. For entertainment news, popular 16 and pregnant star is now 17 and pregnant!"

No seriously, they would hype up the fact that they had to gall to allow us to go over the cliff.

BT has been posting a lot recently, contrarian signal for a pullback?

Not sure why he is talking about making money since he would actually have to SELL something and withdraw it to actually say he "made" money... Does anyone think he is capable of selling non-sacrifice account holdings?

We've been using CK for a few years now, saves us $ every month over purchasing similar information from other sources - actually has a diverse set of reporting tools with which to view your credit info.

I don't usually get involved with politics, but I despise him.

Still, not a lot of time to discuss because life, like the markets, has gotten away from me.

As usual, Only Time Will Tell what the markets have in store for us.

Good Luck and God Bless!!

Are you still planning on a 10% stop loss on your TZA? I am in the same boat. Looks like the market will probably head higher today.

Not sure, to be honest because too many times I have sold just before the market drops... I hope we are at a top for now, but the Fed is pumping some serious money into the market this month... I guess they want everyone to think 2013 will be like January.

I am waiting to see how today goes and I may still wait until AAPL reports, and how the market reacts.
