RealMoneyIssues' Account Talk

TZA is up $10/share in my Roth. I thought you were holding some TZA?
Yes, I am in TZA, but apparently you bought in on a TZA low. Me, I bought in much higher... still way underwater, so I am just hoping to get back to a break even number, but the Bears have no cojones and can't get this done and over with. I think the Bulls are trying to hold break even to up just to make the EOQ look better (window dressing). With that said, I am stuck in that TZA position until either the Bears do what I think they will, or the Bulls finally get off their honches... Just in a waiting pattern...

Wow, just saw the share prices... S-Fund is back to levels not seen since the 1 Sep 2010... ouch

I am in cash now after closing all my TZA holdings, Friday for a gain of 3.23% (wish I had held out) and the last of it today, for an 11.6% gain (small positions) in my IRA; and a 9.6% gain in my brokerage account. I am still down 15% and 26% respectively for the year, but I hope to change that over the next 3 months in small, bite sized, and manageable pieces...

It's crazy out there everyone, be careful.

RMI, Why does your IFT history show that you are 100% S but the autotracker shows you 100% F when your last move was on 09/07/11?

Well, simply put I was a pig and got slaughtered... I am going to take a break from all of this and focus on something else. I cannot seem to catch a break as I was finally catching up on my August losses. Now I am back to where I was and all the good trades over the last 5 weeks have now been reversed.

I thought I had it figured out, but the market (or the PPT, Big Ben, or whoever) had other ideas...

Have a great month, I need to find something better to do with my time other than lose money.

Honestly, a little pain is always healthy - you should hang tough and keep trying to develpe your discipline.

This has been addressed before...and I don't want to pollute ITs
How about our system is worse than other countries and needs to be improved.
Plus I don't think other countries are accepting tens of millions of US economic refugees right now..so much for your "then move" advice.
Ok, so answer me this... why do so many people come here from other countries? Is it for the free college education?

Because they dont want to bail out Greece?

I don't know.
Sorry, I was just trying to understand the if the QOL was so good in the EU, then why were people rioting?
I understand that it is so bad here that we have the OWS crowd...

Just a stupid hick trying to understand these global problems...

I'm trying desperately to keep to my trading moves and RMI I stopped by to see how your trades are going.

That said, I can't pass up an opportunity to plug our relatively clean environment and ample open space. I think it's something to be really proud of ;),

As for the trading RMI, I gotta side with Birch. Stick to it, build up your discipline and intuition. If you like, you can always put the majority of your money on some stable program but keep some "play money" on the side.

I am trying to recover from this directionless market. BT says we are going up to 2000 in the long term (which is find for a buy and holder like him), but the technicals don't agree in the short term.

I have managed to make up for my 20% loss a couple week ago, mostly from a very good small cap trade (making >100%), just wish I had put more into it :D

I hope to have more information to make a decision next week as this week is over and I am not sure I am comfortable holding anything over the week-end with the Greece idiocy still out there. I am currently hedged even, but underwater to the short side. I guess I will be liquidating everything today, taking my lumps, and seeing where we go next week.

I have noticed a lot of people have gone long and I am just not ready to think there won't be a correction here in the next week or so... but I am moving there. As the USG doesn't want the market to go south, they are doing everything they can to hold the market up by freely printing money. ECB is now becoming another Fed, so in their efforts to control inflation in the EU the Euro will go down, causing the USD to go up, and well... the market will go down... The Fed will work harder to keep that from happening, but how much money can they actually print????

Good luck Mapper and thanks for stopping by.

RMI

Was PEIX the small-cap you cashed in on? I can't believe the run it had in the last month - 140% !!

That was the one !

There were others, but I was too late to get into them because they were fast burners. I don't day trade (or well, I TRY not to) so I need to find strong companies that will go up good over time and not a one/two day pop...

Did you?

Excellent work, RealMoney! I assume this is YTD (Year To Date) returns. Hope I can stay near the head, and not that tail! Wow!
Not hard, it's all done in a spreadsheet. Just gives a picture view of the broad spectrum of traders (at the top) to buy and holders (probably at the bottom)...

I try to post this every once in awhile. My daily spreadsheet is... busy, but this graph gives me a good idea of where I don't want to be :D

Here is another one...
