RealMoneyIssues' Account Talk

Do you know if settled funds count the weekend? I have a cash account, due to the fact that I don't like in the agreement for margin it says we reserve the right to sell shares at anytime. Anyways, just sold TZA for a 2.95% gain looking to get back in. Yesterday it would've been almost 7% but I got too greedy! :(

Congrats on the 3% !! Better than a loss !!

Not sure on the margin question since I can't do margins and haven't looked into it. Maybe TSPTalk or someone else with experience could answer the question :D

A month away from my thread, summary:
Gained 8% until 7/26
Lost 8% on 7/27

Despondency for me

So, after I recover from this bloodbath (at least for me), then I am taking the rest of the year off... I have to find a better system. I thought I should have gone long and wham, bam, thank you ma'am...

Going to the gym to work off this frustration, and the 10 lbs I've gained since trying to swing trade...

See y'all in a few days :D

So, I have now hit my pain threshold, should I punch or wait to see where we close????

HELP, PLEASE !!!

IS THERE ANY HOPE????

This isn't the "change" I signed up for...

Alright, now down 26%, putting in sell orders for everything at the prices corresponding with a 25% loss.

I am going to have to sit the rest of this out and try to catch it on a confirmed swing up. I have lost thousands in my SDIRA and my 'play' brokerage account... none of which I can truly afford to lose.

Probably going to G this afternoon to minimize my losses in TSP.

Have a great day everyone.

Missed the sell where my losses would be about 20% vice 26%... now the market is heading back down.

Maybe I am gluten for punishment and have some small hope that the market will come back up by the end of the day. If we close another 1%+ down, we are doomed...

Why lock your losses? Do you need your money this year? Sit tight and wait it out..
So I can hopefully keep from losing even more. NO one I have read this morning thinks we will recover from this for a very long time.

Also, so that I can hope to make more on the way up (if there is a way up) instead of being stuck in my longs for the next 6 months... or more

Remember October 2008 and March 2009 and how you could have made a killing out of a crisis by bargain basement buying. This bull came within $24K of making $2M off those lows and I see $3M in my future. Profit margins remain strong and now there are rumors of QE3 - let the Grand Trunk roll over me.

It's all where you see the market going from here I guess. If you don't think we'll go much lower, than strap them sticky pants on. But if you believe everything is breaking down and a substantial move down is in the cards, then why lock in those losses by staying in? It may make more sense to minimize your losses and look for a better entry point. Not everyone has pure velcro pants like ol Birch.

My sticky pants have deep cargo pockets and that's my saving grace. I've got plenty of superlative bull manure - can I drop a load off at your place. I assume you have the Tony Lamas to work it some.

I believe it's the other way around. You lock losses by getting out!

I know I could use whatever you have to help me with this... Looking like today might be another down day :(
