My favorite band through the mid-90's. Loved the Ten album but slowly lost interest. Saw them in concert in SLC - nearly the front row. :)

I saw Brand New and Manchester Orchestra last weekend. If you like Pearl Jam you may like Brand New. Manchester is right there too though.

Sorry to interrupt, just one of those that has been a TSPtalk member for several years; just rarely post but I am here nearly every day before the IFT dealine. Just a word about Eddie Vedder. Listen to the the sountrack he did for the movie "Into the Wild", great acoustic stuff that meshes so nice with the true story of Chris McCandless, the young man who went to Alaska for his own reasons; sadly it ended tragically for the young man. Great timeless songs by Eddie Vedder.

I can't believe the pearl jamily love going on...awesome...no hijacking here...no worries...Into the wild..good call roulette...have it on vinyl...fantastic

I saw Pearl Jam at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco in the mid-90s when they were trying to buck the Ticketmaster monopoly. 100,000 people moshing around for 30 minutes, then Eddie disappeared for the rest of the show. Apparently he was "sick". But that was about the same time they had put out Mirrorball with Neil Young, who happened to be backstage that day. He came out and performed with Pearl Jam for the next hour and a half. It was awesome. (Bad Religion was the opening act.)

Hey mailman -

I love Eddie Vedder's voice ... takes me places... I started to play the ukelele this past year and a friend of mine turned me on to his album called "Ukelele Songs"
Have you listened to it?
Sounds a little like Cat Stevens in this one.

Since the Eddie Vedder continues here is my last two cents. Very talented song writer, musician, singer etc. etc. Has have tou guys seen a movie called "Big Fish?" Nice film about the relationship between a dying father and son; the son finally coming to terms with his father as he passes on. The producer asked Eddie Vedder to write a song for the film; Eddie wrote "Man of the Hour" - you can hear the song at the end of the movie as the credits are rolling. Touching tune, just right for the film's ending. I think it's a rare song; I think it's in "youtube". Just to quote the story of Eddie and the band's composition of the song. "TimBurton approached Pearl Jam during post-production to request an original song for the soundtrack and closing credits. After screening an early print of the film, Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder went home and wrote "Man of the Hour", completing the demo by the next day. It was recorded by the band four days later. Guitarist Mike McCready stated, "We were so blown away by the movie...Eddie and I were standing around talking about it afterwards and were teary-eyed. We were so emotionally charged and moved by the imagination and humanity that we felt because of the movie." Listen to the tune and enjoy.

Roulette...you are preaching to the choir...at least for me...one of the few bands still around after 20years plus... feel free to chime in whenever you want to...

Alevin...you would love the "Into the Wild" album by Eddie Vedder...same style as the ukelele song you enjoyed
