Student loans and no job do not, in any way, make somebody go into a school full of children and start shooting. Yes our economy is bad right now, but its not to blame for something like that. There were crazy/troubled people around long before Obamanation took control. Have they determined who he shot at his home before he left?

A PROCLAMATION


As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, December 18, 2012. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.

My fear is that we are going to see more Timothy McVeighs - already the military suicide rates are at records and eventually that pain may be redirected toward the public. We need more job potential for our soldiers and students - that means a change in policy in Washington toward productivity rather than dependency.

Now you have union members turning violent - many people in this country are armed to protect their families and themselves from the black boots that may come. While I realize it is inevitable that tragedies will trigger debates, the horror has only just passed. I lived about 2 towns away from Newtown. I used to play baseball there when I was a teen. This place is familiar to me. To say I am shocked and saddened would severely understate my feelings.

There will come a time for debates. For now, the children, adults and parents involved in this tragedy deserve our sympathy and prayers. The healing process will be long and painful. We have all been affected by this senseless act. A part of each of us has been taken from us. Let us grieve while the funerals take place and pray that those who are enduring the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one find peace.
