Post Your "12-Month Personal Rate of Return"

Is this what you get for sitting in G during a multi-month run-up?? :suspicious:

Your Personal Investment Performance (PIP) for the past 12 months ending 01/31/2012 is -3.99%.

As of 01/03/12 PIP is 17.01%......which last month was 9.81% so i must have had a real drop in the month that just came off.
I will soon get to the point where i won't be putting 100% in the S fund, but starting to portion it more to protect a small percentage. I still have about 19 years, but dont want to put all my eggs in 1 basket. I have a 10 year pension from another source but not the ability to play with that like the TSP, so with that in mind, i can let it hang out a little with the S fund and not woory too much. Those of you that are closer retirement, what do you use to guage what you keep in G fund?

Thanks. I'm aggressive on the IFTs when the market drops, but I take profits quickly to minimize the risk. 2-3 days in the S fund a month is my target max.

3.34%

I was an absentee TSP owner until the middle of last month, so I'm pleased with that number and hoping to see it increase over the coming months.

My PIP was 0.42%. I have been a B&H since I entered TSP in Nov '06 until this past December when I discovered this site and decided it would be worth the effort to manage my TSP account more. Made a nice little gain at the end of December, but I have been kicking myself for missing out on the current rally. Hopefully no more sub-1% returns for me. I plan to keep reading all the great info here and learning how to boost my TSP.

Welcome and good luck. Keep your eyes open, read a lot, and ask if you can't find the answer :D
