Post Katrina TSP deposits

I have noticed that my last TSP deposit did not land into my TSP account. Has anyone else noticed this?

Lastweek I called the TSP line and they stated that they were severely backlogged with posts and to give it a couple days. (it has now been four days).

Another twist, my agency is going through a payroll changeand it is possible the problem lies within my agency, but I can not get any answers either way.

I have notice some inconsistency in my account also. I will wait until this Friday to rant. Keep track of your account on paper as a back up.

Last pay period it took an extra 4 days for my contribution to be credited. If it's anything like a 401K, they have several weeks before they are in violation of the law.

Doesn't that affect your returns? ...if your contribution is going into stocks and those returns are high, you are still short the number of units your contribution would have purchased - right? Howcan that be legal??:?

Yeah, it impacts returns and doesn't seem fair. After all, how hard can an electronic transfer be? However, I'm sure it's legal.

My wife's 401K contribution is routinely deposited 7-10 days after she is paid. I looked up the law andher employer is in compliance.

On the other hand, my TSP contribution regularly goes in the day before my pay day. Consequently, I can't complain too much.;)

Thank you all for the posts. My deposit did finally land into my TSP account 12 days late. Just 2 days prior to the next TSP deposit which is now one day late and counting.

I'm thinking , since my agency has switched over to a new payroll system, they may be posting to the TSP on a different day. I'm watching to see if they may have stolen that one deposit, not just from me, but from all agency members...

again thanks.

FYI. My deposit was on time this pay period. It could be your agency rather than TSP.
