Poolman's Account Talk

My daughter is in love with a young man that grew up in Manassas, Virginia. He attended VMI and is from a military family also. They are cohabitating and love is in the air.

That's awesome Birtch, There are lots of Military Families in the area. Pentagon is only 40 miles from where I live. Of course getting there in the morning can take you 2 hour's to get there.

I put my time in being a beltway bandit. No more of that for me. :)

I still am a beltway bandit. 70 miles one way for 30 + yrs.:)

Jeeze, I didn't do it as long as you have but when I was the Senior Computer Programmer for Canada Dry Inc. for 9 year's I drove from Clinton Maryland to Silver Springs base station to Baltimore to Richmond (Different Plants) back home to clinton, daily. 250 mile round trip.

65,000 miles per year. I wore out a Nissan sentra in 4 year's. The car had 240,000 miles on it when a piston rod threw.

I still drive sometimes 100 miles a day being a service guy but it's all within a 20 mile radius of Manassas. Much better. :)

Yes, I admit I have been through a few cars, currently in a 2000 Honda with about 280,000 on her. Still going strong. :D Looking at a 2008 Subaru Outback. Want a little more protection the older I get. But then, may have to work longer to pay for it. Decisions, decisions.
This crazy market...looking for a good entry point, but still DCA'in to the C.

Your quite welcome about the videos. I talk to Nick quite abit over at "InTheMoney". "He Say's be very cautious. We will see lower lowes this year." I talked to him last night in fact.

The Suburu Outback is a nice car. My Wife did Mega research and bought and Acura TLS a couple of month's ago. Rated higher than the Lexus E300. She got a really good deal. $42000.00

That is a little more than I want to pay for a set of tires, but they are nice vehicles.
Setting up a new 'puter at work. Dell Precision-690, biggest one I have had yet. Hoping this will take the place of the three I currently have.

Thanks poolman,

Another must watch video. Cramer is truly one of the BIGGEST P.O.S. on TV. His audience is too dumb to realize that he is really working for his hedge buddies. All they have to do is think about what could be behind his calls.

I don't even watch him anymore, unless I'm just bored and want to get a laugh. He's a Liar, and doesn't speak the Truth. Con Artist. :)

Cramer is better for a guy who's an informed investor than for someone who is just starting off. He masquerades as an investor but is really a trader with his disclaimer being that everyone should do their homework on a stock before buying it. Well, Jim... There are analysts out there who's full time job is following a company, analyzing it's cash flows, talking to the CFO's, visiting the business, etc. and they can't even get it right! How's somebody with a full time job going to pick a winner on 1 hour a week of homework using free information off the internet that's already been exploited? Your guess is as good as mine.

We might not watch him anymore, but Don Harrold must. Who's he going to hammer if he successfully petitions to get his 'White Whale' off the air?

We watch Cramer, but as ya’ll said he is a trader and ya gotta be aware of that. I’d definitely not recommend him for the neophyte just beginning to purchase stocks, but if you’re aware of where he’s coming from and take that into account you'll be able to learn some things from him and even get the occasional nugget of good information. It’s just buyer beware that he is basically a trader and comes from that prospective.

But I do have to say his latest book, (I’m about halfway thru) does have some good information for the new investor and a person just starting a new job. My daughter has her own ROTH and will be graduating from college in about a year, so parts of it will come in handy as he talks about the pitfalls of 401k’s offered by companies and what to look for, after all, she won’t always have dear old dad around to screw up her investments.

Poolman, you can say that again - I think it's absolutely hilarious how often Cramer hammers that BUY BUY BUY button, and not too soon afterward we're watching his pick(s) get SOLD SOLD SOLD.

BTW, THANK YOU for the YouTube stuff, excellent info!

All of Cramer's Big Talk on CNBC this morning is not helping the futures. I bet he's embarrased. Stupid Chearleader.

That Pajama Gram commercial that keeps coming up on CNBC is what I got for the Wife for Valentines Day.

Don't forget guy's.... :)
