OPM services online

Has anybody tried to call OPM retirement services on-line lately?

I sent in, by mail, a request to suspend my health insurance in January- but it hasn’t kicked in- I think it should have by this month- but it didn’t. So I tried to call and ask if they received it.

And I’ve been trying to telephone for about a week now, several times a day, without success. The recording just says “we’re busy, try later”.

I have called about 20 times now over a week without getting a human.

Anybody else tried since the Doge boys visited the PA OPM cave two weeks ago?

Try calling Right as the open for business (maybe give them 5 minutes to get the switchboard open) their hours are: Monday thru Friday, 7:40 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. If you are west of them, You might need to have your Java fix a little earlier than normal.

I've only used the 'retire@opm.gov' email but they always replied in the past.
Haven't tried them lately.

You can email the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) at a variety of email addresses, depending on the subject of your message.

I can't get through either. This is not a good time to be needing Government help :( Thanx for the links exnavyew (I was Navy CTI myself). I'm off to try them out. If anyone here gets through, I would love to hear how they pullled it off!

I got through by calling right near the open in the morning. My first ten calls starting at 7:45 am were busy, but I got in the holding queue around 8:15, and talked to a human at 8:30ish.

All is good- they got my paperwork, and should have it processed shortly. They said they were working now on paperwork received around Jan 25.

Again, contact your FEDERAL Congressional Representative's office. They WILL assist you.
Good Luck! :)

Thank you, exnavyew (I was a CTI).

I finally got through on the phone number, 2 hours of waiting, but got a person who made the change. I was going to try your option tomorrow if I failed again :)

I guess the take home for the phone service is that it does work; you just have to be patient (I'm talking days, not just hours).
