Oil Slick Stuff

Gas around me just jumped .20 a gallon yesterday. It's $3.59. I don't know if it's market BS or they are getting ready for the influx of people for the solar eclipse. Maybe both. :banghead:

Gas has slowly been coming down around me. Today it is $3.23/gallon. I filled up on June 1st at $3.39/gallon. It would be nice if it can still drop some more and not have a 40-cent spike soon.

Dang, gas down to $3.13 by me. Three miles down the road it's $2.99. It's a BP and I can get $0.15 off a gallon. Too bad I don't need gas.

I don't know what the lag effect is between oil and gas prices in your area, but gas may be going higher based on the recent rally in oil, unless they are watching the daily oil prices and gouging in real time.

This is crazy. Earlier this week the gas stations around me were $3.29/gal. Yesterday they all jumped to $3.69. Today they are anywhere from $3.29 to $3.59 all within a mile and a half from me. The market is nuts.

These high fuel prices are really hurting people.

It's a domino effect. What's frustrating is that gas will drop slowly over two maybe three weeks from where it is to maybe around $3.15 to $3.25 and then overnight spike up 30. 40 or 50 cents. Gas could be less expensive, but the big boys don't want to lose the million-dollar profits.

It should, but they are not as quick to drop gas prices when oil falls, as to raising prices when oil is up. :soapbox:

OPEC+ members delay plans to hike production by two months after oil price slump

Members of the OPEC+ oil alliance have delayed plans to hike production by a scheduled 180,000 barrels per day in October, according to two OPEC+ sources, who could only speak anonymously due to the sensitivity of talks.

The increases were part of a plan to gradually return a broader 2.2 million barrels per day to the market over the following months.

The 2.2 million-barrel-per-day decline had been a short-term voluntary cut implemented by just eight members of the OPEC+ alliance.
