Oil Slick Stuff

$2 drop bbl.

Hurtin the markets!

Expected half of a percent, but could go more!
Yes that is true, a sad testimony that when energy falls and the dollar strengthens the Market falls! I just don't know how much longer our economy can take these contradictions to recovery?

Get ready for $10 per gallon gas here soon. Thanks Mr. President!

The EPA’s appeals board ruled that Shell had not taken into consideration emissions from an ice-breaking vessel when calculating overall greenhouse gas emissions from the project.

So Shell Oil failed to include required calculations in it's submittal to the EPA. To me, that's a failure of the corporation, not a failure of the EPA. If Shell oil is that incompetent in it's permit application process, why should we think they would be prepared when their wellheads pull a BP and liter the Artic with millions of gallons of oil?

Shell can fix their application to meet EPA rules, of course.

And then get it approved.

In cases like that, the fault isn't the government who published the rules- it's in the corporation that failed to submit a completed application.

So they shut them down because they didn't report ONE ICE BREAKER SHIP? Blatant abuse of their power is what it is, now a 45 day delay that will probably take three times that long, and delay it a YEAR, thinK GOM they are doing it again! It appears to me that the Ice Breaker is a US Coast Guard Ship, how about that we only have three!

And if that would have been an ethanol producer who had been denied, me thinks you would be singing a different tune...

Just putting things in context :D

Oil falls in volatile trading, gas pump prices up

Oil slips as dollar gains, gasoline up for 34th straight day to $3.86 per gallon

Chris Kahn, AP Energy Writer, On Monday April 25, 2011, 11:03 am EDT

NEW YORK (AP) -- Oil dropped Monday in volatile trading that's expected to be heavily influenced by the U.S. dollar.
Oil is priced in dollars, so it tends to fall as the dollar strengthens and makes crude barrels more expensive to investors holding foreign money. While the dollar was still down a little Monday morning versus other major currencies, it's bounced back from earlier lows.

Gasoline rises to $3.87 per gallon

Gas pump prices up for 35 straight days; oil price, Texas refinery outages push them higher

Chris Kahn, AP Energy Writer, On Tuesday April 26, 2011, 11:25 am EDT

NEW YORK (AP) -- Gas pump prices continue to climb, hitting $3.87 per gallon on Tuesday, though experts say the national average should fall eventually as Americans drive less.
Retail gasoline prices have increased for 35 straight days, adding 32.2 cents per gallon since March 22. They're above $4 per gallon in California, New York, Michigan, Illinois, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Alaska and Hawaii.

The Government is talking about taking away the tax breaks it gives oil companies who are boasting record breaking profits again (except BP)..saying it will generate more revenue....But I wonder what that will do to gas prices..

Exactly what Obama want's it to do!:suspicious:

It won't make a difference since the Middle East producers use our price anyway.
Now if the Middle East could ever agree on their own price, then the Middle East tail wouldn't be wagging the US price dog even though most of our imports are from Canada and Mexico. But they can't even begin to figure out how to do that...

HUH !?!?

Obama urges oil producers to increase output
Obama, until now, had focused on trying to reduce oil demand, but he made clear in his comments on Tuesday that increasing output was also part of the solution.
