Oil Slick Stuff

Very interesting indeed Buster. I wouldn't count them out until development is complete then judge it on the facts.:D

At least somebody's trying to use something besides food. World population has doubled in the last 50 years...from around 4 billion to over 8 billion.
We're gonna need to eat the corn...

I don't understand your skepticism.....

It's simple.

There are billions, and billions, and billions of dollars being made today by a very small, select number of people, because there is a scarce resource being sold as a commodity.

If anyone suddenly comes up with a way to stop those people from making their billions and billions of dollars, don't you think those people are going to do something about it?

I'd say if there is anything at all to this "$30 a barrel" substitute, then every Russian oil baron in the world, every Saudi oil sheik, every BP Petroleum head honco is going beat a path to his door, to buy him out and shut him down.

It isn't gonna happen. The money people won't let it happen. Not in a million years.

Quote me on that.

I dont like messy, smelly noisey diesel anyway. Give me gasoline.
Lets exploit our own vast resources and let the Saudis go pound sand.
China will keep them afloat.
and you can Quote me on that.

I think you are still living in the cold war era of the 60's..your conspiracy goes right along with the mystery 100 MPG carburetor that suddenly disappeared and never seen the light of production...Any sane person today who sees an alternative way of making fuel cheaper than what crude gives us, is gonna support it (across the board)..There is a lot of interest in this sort of bio-fuel and if an oil company where to buy up the patent as you contend, the courts and general public will eat them alive...No Jim, you are still harboring hope for your ethanoil enterprise to save the day and that will be the one thing to go away for sure.

No, Buster, I'm not lost in the cold war era.

Take a look at exactly WHO the people behind "Joule Unlimited" are.

Many are also on the board of "HELICOS BIOSCIENCES CORP". Stock ticker HLCS. Go look that up, look at the stock performance, and then tell me what that has to do with oil. And performance moving forward. Many of those people are concurrently on the board of directors for Joule Unlimited.

A Director is Dave Berry. Dave Berry is also Director of Theracrine, Inc, and also of CGI Pharmacuticals.

None of those entities has EVER MADE A DIME in income, except for large government grants for research.

Now, at a time when the government is pulling back, do you honestly think that this corporation has a snowball's chance of doing ANYTHING that makes money?

I wish them well, but due diligence tells me there is much, much to be done between the wish of having a plant that grows fuel, and a marketable product.

By the way- according to the company's website, the TWO products of this research are a diesel type of fuel, AND ETHANOL.

The newest person on the staff is John Podesta. What in the world are they doing hiring John Podesta? What will that do for them?

They hope that Mr. Podesta will lure government research money. Nothing more. Podesta is hired to get them some Washington R&D cash.

At a time when Washington wants to cut back on stuff. You wonder why they would need Washington cash, if they truely have a product which could revolutionize the entire energy industry?

I know why. Cause it isn't going to work. So they have to lure cash in just to make the bills.

Here is their paper:
http://www.springerlink.com/content/j1414q2u5w25h788/fulltext.html

After reading that, and seeing who the people are, and what they have in mind, I am convinced that this is a great research lab, and nothing more. They will never make any money from a product that could be used by millions.

Bank on it.

FYI-

RBOB gasoline is showing $2.89 for April at wholesale price today. Where I am, that would mean a retail pump price of at least .20 cents higher than the $3.45 it is now. If that holds any longer, it's going to get ugly fast.

Nah.

Obamas paying for my gas. /s :cheesy:

Well, that's one! Way too much delay it sure would have been nice if they would have promoted Exploration and more drilling in a reasonable time instead of purposely delaying production for 11 MONTHS. Why did they do that, I know in the name of safety but that's another BIG LIE! Right now we could use the Oil and Gas.
