Oil Slick Stuff

Anybody have this happen yesterday?

Cheap (comparably speaking) gas station on way to work yesterday:

$3.099 for regular unleaded

On way home from work yesterday:

$3.259 for regular unleaded

On way to work this morning:

$3.299 for regular unleaded

ARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! Oh well, party like it's 2008!!!

Lately..almost every other day..

But When airlines and trucking companies, Train-feight and passenger, you name it, that is big business and they start seeing their profits retreating because fuel costs are eating them up..Feces will again hit the fan ..we won't see it or know when it happens..but there will be a lot of full nelsons applied, to bring the prices back down to within reason..

Raising prices, laying off workers..won't be the answer..because then nobody will buy their stuff or services..they MUST go to the core of the problem.and that is to Insist from the great Black Hope in DC to let the DRILLING BEGIN NOW!!!!

I like this guy, nice name!:D

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Economists, analysts and strategists disagree more than usual about how much damage higher oil prices will inflict on U.S. economic growth this year.
Some say it’ll barely be a bump in the road, while others are setting their hair on fire about the looming disaster.
Is $100 oil here to stay?

Oppenheimer analyst Fadel Gheit talks to News Hub about the outlook for energy prices with unrest growing across the Middle East.

So far, the level crude oil prices and the amount of oil being held off the market are not enough to unhinge the global economic recovery. But we are still in the early innings of the Great Arab Awakening, and we shouldn’t presume to know what course it will take.
No one enjoys paying $3.25 a gallon or more for gasoline (unless you own an oil well), but so far, gas prices at these levels aren’t forcing Americans to cut back too much on their spending on other things. It’s a drag on the economy, but it’s not killing us. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/oil-prices-will-slow-but-not-halt-growth-2011-02-25?link=kiosk

Can't afford a new car. Can't afford an electric car. Too bad. Those electric cars are 0 emission. Means the energy to run them don't create any bad stuff anywhere. It's magic.

For some reason the fact you posted this just makes me feel good.

I wouldn't mind owning an electric car just to experience the technology. 40k or so for something that might get me to work and back and then has to be plugged in overnight just won't work right now.

Stuff like this

with the logo on the door does peace me off.

The people who love this think the electricity comes from those new unicorn fart plants. People in this area don't care because since they closed Mohave coal plant for obstructing the view of the grand canyon, the main coal plant is Navajo which only pollutes monument valley and other parts of the rez.

Whoops! Rant. Political.

Sorry. It is nice to know that while you may believe in unicorn fart powered generation, you at least acknowledge the reality of "zero emission" electric cars.

Iraq problem!

A major Iraqi refinery got blowed up tonight!
Iraq's largest oil refinery was shut down on Saturday after militants carried out a bomb attack and set it on fire, the governor of Salahuddin province said.

The militants killed four people and planted bombs at production units for kerosene and benzene at the refinery in the town of Baiji, a former al Qaeda stronghold about 112 miles north of Baghdad, Governor Ahmed al-Jubouri said.

"There is a big fire in the refinery and the refinery has completely stopped," Jubouri told Reuters.

Clinton, Dec. 19, 1998: "Earlier today, I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. ... Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors. ... Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons."

This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about that will be going on in the "mean time" while our Oil industry Drills for all that Oil in the US to free us from foreign dependency.

Mass. company making diesel with sun, water, CO2

A Massachusetts biotechnology company says it can produce the fuel that runs Jaguars and jet engines using the same ingredients that make grass grow.

Joule claims, for instance, that its cyanobacterium can produce 15,000 gallons of diesel full per acre annually, over four times more than the most efficient algal process for making fuel. And they say they can do it at $30 a barrel.
