North Korea shells South Korean Island

My son returned recently from a military exercise in South Korea. I’m very thankful he’s back in the USA!! This Korean mess will drive the markets crazy today. Good news about the 2.5 GDP report this morning. I hope it will help balance things out, last time I checked markets are down less than 2 percent.:blink:

I gotta feeling, feces is gonna impact the oscillating device soon..:worried:

Re: Sentiment Survey Talk

Well, North Korea didn't do anything last night.... Nothing like tossing artillery at your neighbor to shake the market up.

Re: Sentiment Survey Talk

The central banks are manipulating short term trading tops and bottoms with Ireland too... just like they did w/ Portugal, Greece, etc. They are going to use the light volume days to pump the market while sentiment and retail traders jump off at every bump in the road.

Now the protests in the street begin.

I think the Markets will NOT be influenced - and largely everything will go on as normal.

PLEASE -- take this for what it really is AND nothing more.

This is in 'reality' a fireworks display heralding in the Young Price becoming the KING. The great country of North Korea  was hugely compelled to make this kind of 'change' in style.

The island used for the fireworks display is so far North -- it's getting close to the North Pole ......

So they had to make a 'Statement' and in this change make sure everyone knew that:

1. Despite him still being potty trained
2. Despite him having more apron stings to mommy than hairs on his head
3. Despite him having less than a 3rd grade education
4. Despite him refusing to wear anything but black
5. Despite his belief of being a big beaver
6. Despite him needing a magnifying glass and tweezers :o
7. Despite his willingness to substitue as toliet paper

He is now the bad ass leader :notrust:

Message was given and it's over and done with.

Naval Readiness Exercise Announced

Naval Readiness Exercise Announced

YONGSAN GARRISON, SEOUL, Republic of Korea — The USS George Washington carrier strike group will join Republic of Korea naval forces in the waters west of the Korean peninsula from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1 to conduct the next exercise in the series announced at the 2+2 meetings in July.

This exercise is defensive in nature. While planned well before yesterday’s unprovoked artillery attack, it demonstrates the strength of the ROK-U.S. Alliance and our commitment to regional stability through deterrence. It is also designed to improve our military interoperability.

U.S. Navy ships scheduled to participate include the USS George Washington (CVN 73) with an embarked carrier air wing (CVW 5), USS Cowpens (CG 62), USS Shiloh (CG 67), USS Stethem (DDG 63), USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62).

U.S. and allied operations are built on an already strong foundation of cooperation and this exercise is intended to further enhance interoperability. The U.S. and ROK forces will conduct air defense and surface warfare readiness training.

The U.S. Navy routinely operates in the waters off the Korean peninsula and has conducted numerous operations and exercises in this area. In October 2009 the George Washington strike group conducted similar operations in the international waters west of the Korean peninsula. U.S. aircraft carriers frequently visit the Korean peninsula and conduct port visits in Busan; such as USS George Washington in 2010, USS John C. Stennis in March 2009, USS Ronald Reagan, USS Nimitz, and USS George Washington in 2008.

Could you imagine what would happen if the NY National Guard lobbed a few rounds into lake Ontario for practice and then Canada dropped some 155 on Buffalo. I would think it would be "Game On"

When civilians die, it is not a fireworks display.
There was a response unfortunetly every other person on the street in NK does not have a phone camera and you can bet NK is not going to share with the world.
ROK are some hard @$$es. As long as it is not a political game I would go to war with them.

I was speaking only from the 'North Korean' perspective -- and meant no disregard to the seriousness and the tragedy of what happened.

From their perspective it was more a 'fireworks display' --an attention getter and the casualities and injuries were relatively small in light of all the fire and smoke.

The greatest 'fireworks display' to date would likely be the Twin Towers (and here I all the more mean 'No Disrespect'). Again I am speaking strickly from 'their perspective' -- because there is simply no way possible I would have ever thought the Towers would collapse the way they did.

Please forgive me WorkFE -- as I am only bringing to light there need to make known the 'change of guard' and make sure everyone knew this beaver little kid is 'just as bad'.

Civilians dying - applies to 'us' as well as 'them'. When I was Regular Army - stationed in Germany a few soldiers kicked a man to death, raped his pregnant wife and barely missed kicking her to death. They probably thought they did. But hey they were just having fun and it was a random event. So they broadcast the report of what happened and wanted anyone fitting that description to be reported.

Well I felt 100% like you WorkFE - and my room mate and his friend fit and it's no wonder they came in acting as they did at 2 in the morning. That's right about the time I was transferred on to bigger and better things. The First Sgt ordered both of them to my room :D;) to kick my ass --- but they changed their minds -- and nothing happened.

Some things are ALWAYS WRONG -- always.

I hardly know what to say. A few individuals who ,through proper investigation, should to this day be in prison vs. a 1.5 million person army (Active) at the direction of leadership that has no morals and has been holding the world hostage.
Six to twelve operational nukes. Does anyone not believe this is where we will be with Iran in another 24 months.

I hardly know what to say.

Please know -- I can tell where your grounding is. Make no mistake I am very in tune with your heart and life and I admire you immensely.

This is NOTHING - compared to everything else - and in even the stuff I was personally responsible for.

That was the basis for me doing so much research on Iran -- first and foremost -- and from there I went through everything else until I found the TRUTH about Vietnam and where is all got started.

A few individuals who ,through proper investigation, should to this day be in prison vs. a 1.5 million person army (Active) at the direction of leadership that has no morals and has been holding the world hostage.

My gosh - you sound just like me - it's like I'm standing in front of a mirror listening to myself.

I'm telling you the God's Honest TRUTH ~ and in fact ~ this is where my 'Political Views' have their grounding. The 'few individuals' are the very ones responsibe for leading this Nation and I'm talking hundreds of thousands of civilians. Way worse - is the realization of what they did with their own civilians - by feeding them a line of crap and forcing them to BELIEVE in the cause.

Leadership is based on 'morals' - we know lines you spoke of recently and our inner grounding most certainly keeps us within those lines -- and it's rare we would drift over.

The people I'm talking about are nothing like what you and I think of as 'leaders'. They are people that live only to make a name and the only thing that matters is the 'image' they project. POWER is everything and they will let it ride for year after year - Administration after Administration until at some point 'The Population' forces them to stop.

The world has long been held hostage - by Corporate Interests and the politicians operating as their puppets.

24 months ????

Iraq has increasingly made it clear they could care less what the USA thinks and they have 'zero loyality' to whatever the US desires in how they live and function as a nation.

Afganistan -- has made it very clear that they are far more committed to working with Iran and maintaining long term relationships with them because they are 'neighbors' and over the centuries they have shared numerous interests and will continue having far more in common in the years to come.

Iran - was hugely 'screwed' by the super powers for many years and it all came to an end around 1979 when they said no more 'foreigners'. That's when they took the hostages. We bombed the hell of them and have made their lives as miserable as possible ever since - and Cuba as well.

Please know I'd be the first to fight - if we needed to - but our situation with Iran is way more based on 'our interactions' - and our refusal to treat them with dignity and respect. We would be a far GREATER Super Power by extending more openness and interaction and exchanges with Cuba and Iran -- than 'refusing to grow up'.

Not going to argue with you. There are times when I wish, in reference to world opinion, we were more like Russia or China. If we would have treated NK like the Russians treated Georgia during the South Ossetia and Abkhazia incident the world would have crapped themselves with condemnation. Russia moved so quickly most people can't even recall that happening. We drag $h!t out for eternity. Target the Leadership, every one of them, with every first generation outdated JDAM we own and be done with them. The world will cry, moan and complain but in a year nobody will remember except the historians. blah blah blah never happen Rant over.

Steady if my memory serves me right I think our Fearless Leader  already tried a diplomatic strategy with Iran, and was told to stick it? It was another of his broken promises, remember.
