I like ceramic tile though, better than carpet! Carpet gets all kinds or stuff soaked into it, nasty!! With tile, if I spill the wine just mop it up!!

Installing Ceramic tile reminds me of cooking. The cooking part is fun, but the cleanup isn't. It's pretty hard on the back too...

Agreed, I have carpet that's about 3 years too old and I'm going to replace it with tile this year. I believe this carpet is making our house dusty and making me sick.

Two years ago we had a mild winter and fleas got into our house. They hid in the carpet and were a pain to get rid of

Carpet never again, besides ruggs are cool and you can replace them much easier.

My house is 100% TILE, closets, front, and back porchs, everything. The only things I have left are the walls and around the pool.
One reason I did it is my Wife has asthma and carpets don't help when you have allergies. Besides that you never have to replace them!!!
Oh, I put them down myself because those installers want $2.50 to $3.50 a square foot. OH NO, NO, not me I'm very frugal!

If it is Frugal to take pride in doing things yourself then count me in. However I breath in the accomplishment everytime I sit on the back deck I built and drink an Ale that I made.
Good for you nnuut. It is a lost art to learn a skill and apply it even when it is not your chosen profession.

Decks, I built a 12' x 24' deck on my last home with a gable roof on one side. Yes I love to build things, fix things, create things. If I do a good job I feel better about myself. Better than a SHRINK I think!!

There are some things that I would not feel comfortable doing alone. Electric is one of them. Fortunately I have a electrician friend who inspects my work before I flip the switch. I guess work that could affect the structural integrity of our home I would get some help for as well. Extremely satisfying though.

I surely am not an electronics Technician but can wire a house. That Deck I built was attached to an 18' x 24' family room that I built. I did have it roughed in but I finished the rest, Inside, Outside and the roof. Had a great time with the sheet rock in the cathedral ceiling.

Was thinking about dropping a little in the "C" and "S" today but changed my mind. Market seems to be bouncing in between support and resistance, just doesn't know which way to go. So I will play it safe until conformation, of which way it's going comes along. :worried:
