if i remember right you just retired recently, correct? my point is if that is so you are doing exactly the opposite of most people who put their money in safety (G) fund. im in your boat maybe not for the same reasons but i too agree that just because you retire you don't have to let your money earn low rates. you do need to be cautious, but thats the case with anything. i have 3 yrs before being eligible (CSRS) and i am fully vested in equities and will continue after i retire also. its like running a race when you get closer to the finish line you don't stop and start walking you turn on the after burners and sprint past the finish.just curious on your thinking as well as the MB on this.
thanks
john

The patern since March seems to be: you are better off entering the market in the middle to later part of the month and riding it out to the last day. Those who stayed in through the beginning of the next month, like me, paid for it. :(

Of course, now that I spotted this pattern, it won't hold true for June into July. :suspicious:

I changed my strategy some, now I'm trying to work with the IFT limitations and that means no more in and out. I try to jump in when I am pretty sure there is a positive turn around, but of course that is a trick in its self. Seems to me the bottom might be in and we should teeter around up and down for a while but this bounce isn't permanent and may not last too long for many reasons.
I left all of my TSP in when I retired I see no reason to play it too safe, I really don't need the money but the future is getting older and older and I know I will need it later. 3 years will pass quickly, you will love it!

I won't be around much tomorrow if any, going on a trip and will be back Sunday night. Best of luck tomorrow.:D

went with a bigger solid ROLLER cam , man she is crisp and sounds ready to play , cant wait to get behind wheel tonight , accidently left foot prints in shop last night ,but i sure was grinning

I hope tomorrow to be a continuation of today, but Friday may be a different story.

Japan's market is up, Hong Kong's market is up, I will look at Europe early tomorrow morning, but everything is looking towards a positive (albeit not huge) or neutral US market tomorrow. Everyone I read and follow is talking about a positive tomorrow even with the Greek Austerity vote. Who knows.

I am 100% long in the market and look forward to another positive day tomorrow, but will seriously consider getting completely out of the market for Thu/Fri. I will only consider staying in Thursday if all my indications are positive. I probably not be in on Friday no matter what. Just my 2 cents.

Good Night !

If you went into F on 6/17 aren't you down like 5 cents? Seems like when the other funds do well the F fund suffers. Now doesn't seem to be a good time to be in F, but I'm definitely no pro.
