nnuut's Account Talk

So, you want oil and gas to go up??? That's NNUUTS!
Yes I am nnuuts, but what I am referring to is the strange state of the Markets and Oil and Gas. These two have got together and travel Up and Down in unison. I haven't seen this before but it is a fact. This is very troubling to me because I really think we need cheap energy to get out of this mess, but am in the Market and when Oil/Gas retreats the market tanks, I just can't win. Please read the attached link to the Oil Slick Stuff Thread and be enlightened.:D

Game-changing ads

With so many great advertising campaigns over the years, we asked Mark Tutsell, chairman of Leo Burnett Worldwide and of the CLIO Awards, and Mary Warlick, executive producer of the ad documentary "Art & Copy" to help us pick a few favorites.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Beer drinkers beware: The cost of a cold one is going up.
Brewers across the globe are hiking prices to compensate for lower volumes and higher commodity costs in the recession.
Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewer and maker of Budweiser, announced plans to raise prices Tuesday.
"We plan on taking price increases on a majority of volume and in a majority of markets this fall," Anheuser-Busch InBev said in a statement. "The increase helps cover some input costs."
The U.S.-Belgian brewer said prices will go up "across different price tiers" including its high and low-end brands.
The price hikes are part of a broader industry trend.
Heineken, best known for its Heineken and Amstel brands, said Tuesday that its global price increases have helped it turn profits despite sagging volumes.

Dang! Beer is my only true vice. Well, actually I have a few more, but beer is the only one I really enjoy.
You may have to get off of that expensive imported stuff and the Ice Beer, switch to Old Mil or something>?

Or make your own, here's a recipe:
Anyone know where we can tap one of these trees? :D

BIRCH BEER
Measure 4 quarts of finely cut twigs of sweet birch into the bottom of a 5 gallon crock.
In a large kettle, stir 1 gallon of honey into 4 gallons birch sap and boil for 10 minutes, then pour over the chopped twigs. When cool, strain to remove the twigs and return to the crock.
Spread 1 cake of soft yeast on a slice of toasted rye bread and float on top of the beer. Cover with a cloth and let ferment until the cloudiness just starts to settle, about a week but it depends somewhat on the temperature.
Bottle the beer and cap tightly. Store in a dark place and serve it cold after the weather gets hot. It should stand in the bottles for about 3 months before using. If opened too soon, it will foam all over and pop worse than champagne.
THIS IS NOT A DRINK FOR CHILDREN: SWEET BIRCH (Betula lenta) also called Black birch, Sweet birch or Cherry birch has fragrant bark and twigs that smells of wintergreen. The sap flows about a month later than maple and much faster than maple. You tap the trees the same as maple but must gather about 3 times as often. The sap also can be boiled the same as maple but the syrup is much stronger, more like molasses.

Norm: I live in Louisville Kentucky not far from bourbon central. Don't have to travel to far to get my 4 roses, or Elmer T. Lee.

Recipe: 2 clinks of ice.
Splash of single batch
Sit back and relax

I've tried some pretty good homemade beers before... liked most of them except the hoppy ones. That Birch beer was pretty good from what I remember ... had some as a kid but not sure if it had alcohol... it was ice cold and tasty that's what I remember.. my guess is it did... muskidine wine had alcohol too and that didn't stop the older relatives from giving the kids a taste or three (explains alot, huh?)... or stop my grandma from using moonshine as cough medicine...

I believe Birch preferred Heineken from what I gather

Grew up on 3.2 POC (Pride of Cleveland) Of course we gave it a different name because you had to drink so much at 3.2 to get a buzz that you went to the bathroom a lot.
