Your first 2 IFTs for the calendar month are your 2 IFTs. If one or both of them are from other funds to G then those are your 2 IFTs. If you have anything left in the other funds after your first 2 IFTs then all you can do is move to G.

Good luck and WELCOME!

If you go to the TSP.gov site and look under the tsp features. It has alot of great information and you will find interfund transfer rules. good luck.

Cobradawg92,

First off you need 10 posts to be tracked on the tracker, so respond individually to every ones reply. Then read all the posts you can and ask questions to better understand. I read TSP Talk Market Commentary every day as well as all those who I have learned to respect. You will find those you understand and can identify with, and if you can't then ask questions. Everyone here is here to learn/share and grow our TSP balances.

There is ample amout on information here you just need to ask or dig it up.

So welcome my friend!

What's your current position? I'm 15 C, 35 S, 50 I, however I plan on rebalancing soon.

What's the one thing I should know about the website from all you veterans?

Thanks

Welcome.

The one thing you should know is...no one can tell YOU how to invest your money, YOU have to learn what YOUR inner voice is telling you- and your own risk/reward tolerance. You'll make mistakes, so have we all. What is most important is that you learn from your mistakes, and try to learn from watching others, so that you don't make the same mistakes they do.

We all learn here. We all have goals and approaches. No single approach works best ALL of the time, so look for those who are being successful, and see what it is they consider when they decide where to put their money.

Then develop a style of your own.

Best of luck, and welcome. You've found the right place.

Cobradawg, those are some pretty good answers to your question. The Folks here don't mind helping someone out, and as you probably know there are no stupid questions.
Best of luck:D

Welcome Cobradawg! I consider myself a newbie and I've enjoyed reading the blogs. They have been very helpful in my decision making. Good luck 2010!

Welcome ! Be sure to read the Blogs by our writers; and check out the links in the different posts. You'll find that out of all the different theories here, there will be one close to what your bent is. Give it time, tho. Following a different system/theory everyday won't work - you lose the goal of each of them. :)
And if you lose track of `where you've been' use the `search' button; re-read the`sticky's' to help remember where you are.......:embarrest:
Oh - yeah - you gotta post...

The one thing to know is there is more than "ONE" thing to know.

Really it comes down to:
1~ Pick a goal
2~ Find someone/blog that has the same goal
3~ Learn everything they know!

Due to the limitations on TSP and the funds, I think a lot of people here like to make the most of their moves.

Watch the tracker and pick a horse and try to imitate their moves until you learn from a mentor!

The easiest mentor is Birchtree, he has a rock solid method! But you may not want to limit/commit to his method and look around to others.

Welcome and enjoy the ride!

Good to have you here. :D

Best advice I have is to search, read, and know why you do what you do before you do it. Know who the old-school leaders are and pay attention when they speakup. Read Toms comentary, don't watch CNBC, and don't read-into too many blogs. Know who the resident Buy & Holder is. Be the wolf, not the herd, the wolf leads the herd to slaughter. :cheesy:

Hello to all. I've been checking this site out for awhile and joined a few days ago. Look forward to learning all I can.

welcome,

i'm still new here myself but i think i've figured some things out, rules are pretty simple, don't call anyone names and if you want to make a lot of new friends just post in one of the politics threads.

as for investing, find some folks you identify with, watch their trades on the tracker, and read, read, read. lots of good insights here.
