New highs for the Dow

Stocks rallied strongly yesterday making it 6 straight days of back and forth action - loss, gain, loss, gain, etc. The Dow gained 112-points and it made a new high.

The S&P 500 is pushing against its recent highs as well, and the last two times we saw "cup" formations like we are seeing now, the S&P broke out to new highs. It may happen again, and holiday seasonality may assist it, but volume was light on the big up day yesterday and...

... It still looks like an intermediate-term top is trying to form.

The short-term indicators seem to have bottomed and are heading up again, which is bullish...

But when you look and the moving averages, which are longer-term readings, the indicators are more "toppy". This backs up the short and intermediate-term charts of the S&P 500.

I posted this late yesterday so some of you may not have seen it. It's the Good Friday seasonality charts.

While the end of March isn't always very strong, Good Friday seasonality suggests a positive bias the rest of this week and, after a 1-day post Easter negative Monday, we get a couple more positive bias days.
