Got an interesting email from TSP yesterday.

Dear participants,

Welcome to the start of a new year, with all the optimism and fresh motivation that comes with it. I have plenty of good news to share about your Thrift Savings Plan. It’s news that I hope will increase your confidence in the TSP on your journey to and through retirement.

I transferred all of my TSP to my Edward Jones account in late 2024. I guess I will have to see if I can still get into my account.

The weather is crazy here on the north coast. The wind today was awful. I had a wind gust of 35 just before my power went out. I'm surrounded by trees so I can only imagine what the real wind speed was. Cleveland Hopkins Airport registered a 77 MPH gust and Burke Lakefront Airport (right on Lake Erie) registered an 85 MPH gust. Running my portable generator. There were over 100,000 power outages in my county alone. A text I got said maybe power restored by tomorrow evening.

Went out this morning to fill up my gas cans. Gas was $3.43/gallon. I have a BP credit card so I got $0.15/gallon off. No idea when power will be back on. First Energy website still showing 110,000 outages as of 8am this morning

Not good. Sorry to hear that. I hope it's not too cold in your neck of the woods.

Mid 30's right now. Possible 70 tomorrow. My portable generator is large enough to manage most of the house including the furnace. Hoping the power comes back on sooner than later. Rumor is maybe by tomorrow evening. 96,601 still without power but that's down from 120,000.

Exciting day on the north coast. One of the coldest St. Patrick Days for the parade in about 30 years. The parade started at 1:00 o'clock with windchill's in the teens and snow showers.

But earlier this morning around 9am a loud boom and homes being shaken got 911 all lite up. It was confirmed this afternoon by NASA that it was a meteor. Although most news stations before noon had video's showing the event.
