buster, i'm shocked, we won't tell your secret, that is for sure a great one, careful showing that softer side though, i'd hate to have to change my opinion of you, i like my opinion of you just the way it is.
 
alevin, nice pick, how do you maintain such balance? i struggle with the inciteful / spiteful most days. overwhelmed by workload and circumstance, still working on review and postage.

BC, I spent 5.5 years (call it eternity-very nearly true) in a particular area of the country where us land management agency types were near-universally loathed, distrusted, hated, libelled and threatened-just for doing our jobs (the attitude even spilled over onto the state game agency key people who helped us maintain habitat for economically important wildlife and fish species). DOJ attornies routinely stalked our hallways on civil cases-us against perps, county against us (grand jury investigations against us that wasted .5 mm $ of county taxpayer funds-against all advice from the state atty general to the county). The saga had started before I arrived and continued for years after I gratefully departed that area for my new home here-and I didn't look in the rearview mirror and didn't let the door hit me on the butt when I left. Been 11 good (mental-emotional recovery) years here-and counting.

After living through those years, what goes on here on the mb is child's play,:rolleyes: considering we're all equals with equal power and right to say what we think is true and just, and considering we are expected to treat each other with respect-except the mods and Tom are more equal of course. :D

Of, and I consider myself an independent-lib (I have the right to form my own opinions on anything at all irregardless of which party claims the view). AND I stopped drinking coffee about 2 weeks ago, and I am a believer-which gives me lots of maverick perspectives. :cool::)

I'm even more amazed that mankind has no real appreciation or understanding of maintaining the habitat THAN I am at their inability to get along.

I can understand how conflicts will be a never ending problem because of numerous differences -- or because of some ongoing resentment from ages ago. People are simply 'screwed up' and there's no way around it.

BUT - knowing what we know today - about every source of wildlife and fish and their immensely 'purposeful' existence and the the crucial role they have in the big picture; I would think by this time a Universal effort to maximize and maintain the habitat would be the highest priority.

Birch had mentioned his mother had a pet skunk -- and my thought was it probably largely makes no difference. On the deepest and truest level we are 'animals' first and if we allowed bonds to really develop -- most animals would probably connect with us on the highest levels because they don't have the 'baggage' that makes us so different.

Good job on the 2 weeks !! hummm maybe it is possible to stop :o
