MaStA's Account Talk

Stopped out of NEM @ 22.60 for a 4.2% loss. I think I misunderstood when their earnings were being released...could have swore it said they were coming out yesterday and now I'm seeing February 20th. I know they released some positive data yesterday, but it didn't help the stock any and I guess it wasn't earnings data...

Alright Birch, I'm ready for the bull charge! I got back in today 100% S fund...hopefully Yellen doesn't make me regret it.

Bought some SGMS today @ 13.10, some XLS yesterday @ 19.74, and some IBM on the 7th @ 175.00. Will see how these play out...

I wish I would have bought more IBM, but I'm trying to diversify and not blow too much of my cash in one stock.

Picked up a few shares of PEP @ $78.00 and a few shares of ALNY @ 81.45. Not much buying power left in my roth...waiting for my $5,000 for the year to process through the ACH. Unfortunately this is only my fourth year contributing to my Roth so as you can see I only have $20k invested to work with. I'm up over $2k from the $15K originally invested for a ~13% increase in three years. Not all that great probably, but for someone still learning a gain is better than a loss lol. :D

nobody ever goes broke making a profit. anything in the green isn't bad :)

XLS met my sell target of 20.80 and I sold it for a ~5.4% gain.

Bought some ODFL@ 52.88

Looking like another ~1% gain on the S fund today. :D

So ~1840 looks like support. I'm in this ropes course training all week so I'm not really able to access my phone to keep an eye on it except on lunch. :(

I might just be staying in over the weekend, but this news is one bad thing after another it seems lol. Strange thing is, the stock market somehow continues to go up. :notrust:

Picked up some Z @ 83.42 this morning and just picked up some DECK @ 83.50.

Closed my EGN position @ 80.37 for a 11.9% gain (bought at 71.80).

I hold EGN, and I'm thinking she's got a long way to go. RSI is over 70, so it may need to consolidate some, but PPO is still climbing, which is a good sign.

I agree but I can always buy back if it goes down again. This was one of my best short plays on a stock so far.

Satisfy my curiosity if you are inclined - the +$9 gain for an 11.9% profit gain translates into how many dollars earned? I'm just trying to gauge your depth.

Not much since I only invest ~10% of my Roth in each stock I buy and since I've only been investing the $5k/yr for four years I only had about $1,800 in EGN (25 shares). Eventually I will have more to work with where I can start making decent money on trades.

Another gain for my TSP...I'll take it! Crazy how I'm already over half of my last year's gain and it is only February. I just need to hold onto it. :D

If the jobs numbers are good tomorrow and the market is positive come IFT cutoff I will stay in. If it is looking ugly I will most likely bail.

and we are off to the races again! I guess I'll start March off invested...what the heck.

My DECK trade turned out to be terrible. Earnings were great, but guidance was not great. Thankfully since I am still building my Roth I only bought 20 shares so the hit is not terrible...now to decide to hold or get rid of it.

Out of Z at 85.75 and out of ALNY at 84.61. Small gains but I'm starting to get worried.
